New Comic-Con trailer up now. Gonna be wild.
-
This looks so damn cool.
Seems they are playing the long game with Mordo, which is good bc that actor can act.
Villain looks kinda generic "used dark arts" sorcerer but with so much to set up, that is to be expected.
dat cap through

Mordo needs as much depth as Loki. Bring him into the antihero zone. Don't condemn him to just being a mustache-twirler.
I can appreciate the bending/twisting of cityscapes, but considering it was done "recently" in Inception I hope it isn't the centerpiece of the film.
Movie Strange needs more physical combat compared to what usually happens the comics. If eldritch bolts and shields are standard issue, why can't there be eldritch swords, axes, maces, whips, etc.?
Make good use of magical items.
Have an easter egg of the Drumm medical clinic in New Orleans.

From the trailer, Mordred looks like an ally, instead of a villian so you might get your wish that he is going to be more developed than most of the movie villains.

In the comics Kaecilius the character that will be played by Mads Mikkelsen is actually one of Baron Mordo's underlings. Perhaps that is what route they are going.
-
Yeah I'm guessing they're setting Mordo up to be a recurring villain a la Loki.
-
I like Dr.Strange but I've only read probably around 6-7 in 25yrs and I've watched the animated movie and the TV pilot yrs ago.
I've seen over at DC comics that they are doing comics of Batman '66 and Wonder Woman '77 basically telling stories that weren't told during the shows run. I think it would be cool if Marvel did Dr.Strange this way based on the the Dr. Strange TV in 1978. I've always wished that the show had given a chance of a full season. This would be a chance to give us that season.

With it being an Infinity Stone, I wonder if strange gets it back post Thanos
-
Yeah we have, what, two more stones to go, right? This one and the another that will be Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2.
Also...is it too much to hope that Mordo is somehow really Doctor Voodoo? :-X
-
Gunn said thanos and stones are not in his movie
Leaving Thor or....
King silomon frog is a stone
Or it will just be jn IW
-
Gotcha. :D
So, leaving out GotGv2 the final stone has to appear somewhere. Guess that leaves Thor 3.

Apologies to Marvelous, I started a new Doctor Strange topic not realizing this existed. Apologies to those who posted in that thread as I inadvertently deleted the whole topic!?! What a mess for someone with so many posts, right?
Any way, I thought the movie was entertaining, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One was dope, but it didn't quite thrill as my Marvel favs. I absolutely agree with one of our HEFers, I think it was Mind of Shadow who said the mid credits and end of credit scenes should have been reversed.
Peace,
Mont
