I must admit, it's got strikes against it coming out the gate, but I think there's room enough for all 4 of these films to suceed. 07 may just be the biggest summer in box office history.

I was never a Transformers fan.  Never owned the toys or read the comics.  I might have seen one or two episodes of the animated show.  It didn’t interest me enough to watch it regularly.  I saw them as long commercial made to sell toys.  Since I have no nostalgic feelings towards this franchise, I will be judging the movie on its own merits.  Hopefully it will be a good action sci-fi summer blockbuster.

I don’t have much confidence in Michael Bay.  He directs spectacular action sequences but his films usually contain very artificial characters and uninteresting plots.

Dark Horizons has a list of the Autobots and Decepticons that will appear in the movie.

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news06/060820a.php

Quote
The Autobots

Optimus Prime
Noble, elegant and shakespearean leader of the Autobots

Bumblebee
Scout, smallest of the Autobots, most connected to humans

Jazz
Very eager, very contemporary and very stylish; looks at human culture and picks out what he likes best

Ratchet
Medic/science officer, smartest of the Autobots; vehicle mode: Emergency vehicle

Ironhide
Tough and gritty soldier, the muscle in the Autobot team

The Decepticons

Megatron
Most advanced being in the universe, not purely evil, has a darwinist approach towards humanity (survival of the fittest), treats humans like we treat animals

Starscream
Plotting to overthrow Megatron, the classic "banter" between Megatron and Starscream is intact

Brawl
A pissed off, eager brute who charges into battle, even if there's no point in doing so

Bonecrusher
The most Constructicon-like of the bots; a fascist who hates all Decepticons except Megatron

Barricade
A scout, a camouflaged hunter, vehicle mode - cop car

Scorponok
Most BeastWars/Dinobot-like bot, makes total sense in the environment he's in

Frenzy
Infiltrator; the character evolved from Soundwave to Frenzy; very small

Blackout
Transport for the Decepticons, kind of like the Decepticon version of "Ratchet"; sends out an EMP-blast to block out all electronical detection devices prior to a Decepticon attack, so "you won't know what hit you".

With the comics, I would like to say, look especially for anything written by Simon Furman. Furman wrote nearly all of the UK Transformers stuff, and the last couple of years of the 80's Marvel run. The art quality ranges from awful to brilliant (good Transformers artists are Andy Wildman, Geoff Senior, Lee Sullivan, Don Figueroa and Guido Guidi - most of the others are not that good), but if he's the credited writer, the story underneath is consistently good.

the announced robots for the movie:  Looks like it's a scaled-down roster on both ends, and in the case of the Decepts, they've got several folks from the 90's - 00's- era toys/toons..

Autobots
Optimus Prime
Bumblebee
Jazz
Ratchet
Ironhide

Decepticons:
Megatron
Starscream
Brawl
Bonecrusher
Barricade
Scorponok
Frenzy
Blackout

So who do you think should be the voice for Jazz?  Scatman Crothers did the voice on the original 'toons..

Furman even answered the letters pages in the UK, in character, so kids got their questions answered by Soundwave, then later on Ratchet, Grimlock, Dreadwing and Blaster. I guess they're not doing any celebrity voices for the Transformers, but Will Smith has already done some voice-work (Shark Tale), but that's probably the least likely possiblity.

Good point. For me, he's also the very definition of a McGuffin in the movie. Where does he come from? What's the source of his powers? Why is the Matrix the only thing that can destroy him? None of that is answered, he's just a threat who appears when they need a threat to appear.

You're thinking Brawn.  Brawl was a member of the Combaticons.  So, Brawl being on Megatron's side fits.

On that note, Blackfilm.com has a Transformers page which goes into more detail of the personalities and motives of the characters:

That's the truth.  Furman is the chief reason why I felt so crushed when the original TF comic ended.  He really evolved the book from mere toy/cartoon tie-in into a smart, thrilling sci-fi adventure in its own right.

Kevin Michael Richardson plays the current Joker on The Batman.  The first time I heard of Richardson was when he played Static's dad on Static Shock.  Here is his profile:  http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0724656/

And I agree.  Richardson or Payton would be a great pick for Jazz.

You checked out any of the UK-only Furman stories? They've been released in tpb format over here, guess maybe you can get them off Amazon if there's no US release. Stuff like Space Pirates where the Quintessons invade Autobot City Earth, blow everyone except Arcee away and string their corpses up on the wall, or Prey with Optimus vs. the Predacons.

Transformers Details Revealed

SCI FI Wire got a rare peek at the production of director Michael Bay's upcoming Transformers movie in downtown Los Angeles on Aug. 26, including the first up-close look at the disguised versions of four key Autobots: the chartreuse search-and-rescue vehicle Ratchet, the giant black GMC 4x4 Ironhide, the sleek silver Pontiac Solstice sports car that is Jazz and the muscle-y yellow-and-black Chevy Camaro that is the new Bumblebee—so new that the car in the movie is a prototype for a vehicle that hasn't even gone into production yet. Ironhide had an Autobot logo on his tailgate; Ratchet featured a fire department seal on its doors with the same logo in the design.

In interviews with cast and crew, SCI FI Wire also got a preview of the film and learned a few key spoilers:

•The film will offer background about the origin of the war between the Autobots and Decepticons. The plot will be set in motion when 18-year-old Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) discovers his grandfather's pair of century-old glasses, improbably laser-etched with a map and information about the location of a key artifact, the "Energon" cube, which he then tries to sell on eBay. The movie will follow five separate storylines, which will all converge with a final battle between the Autobots and Decepticons, starting at Hoover Dam and ending in an American city that looks a lot like Los Angeles.

•The film is seeking permission to be the first production to film the exterior of the Pentagon since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001; the movie will also shoot in various cities, including L.A., Chicago, Detroit and Washington.

•The film will feature a top-secret military unit called Sector 7.

•Voice casting of the Transformer robots is being left until later in the production, except for Peter Cullen, who was previously named to reprise his role as Optimus Prime. In particular, producers wouldn't say whether Frank Welker, who voiced Megatron in the 1986 animated Transformers film, would voice the character in the movie.

•The movie will use a mix of computer animation and large-scale puppetry to depict the giant robots. Megatron will appear as a plane, not a giant gun, as he did in early versions of the franchise.

•The film's first full trailer will appear sometime during the holiday season this year.

Overall, director Bay told SCI FI Wire that the movie strives for realism, despite its cartoony origins. "I only wanted to do Transformers if I could do it realistic," Bay said in an interview. "And from what I've seen and what we've done with our digital studies, putting it in real-world stuff, that is lots of effects around that are real effects, that's how we make it realistic." When Bay got the first call from producer Steven Spielberg, he said, "My first thought was, 'Nah, I'm not interested.' And just because I thought, 'OK, how am I going to do a toy movie?' And then I realized, when I went to Hasbro, 'OK, start over and go for [a] realistic alien-invasion-robot movie on Earth.' And so, with that thinking in mind, that's how I went about it."

On a hot Saturday, Bay and his crew shot a scene on a blocked-off street in the heart of downtown L.A. The scene featured the four Autobots, accompanied by military crews led by co-stars Tyrese Gibson and Josh Duhamel, and young stars LaBeouf and Megan Fox, who plays Mikaela, LaBeouf's love interest. In the scene, the commandoes see what they believe to be Air Force jets flying overhead, then realize that the coming flying machines are something else—Decepticons in disguise?—and throw smoke grenades to obscure their positions as dozens of civilians run screaming around them. Ironhide, the black truck in the lead of the column of Autobots, appears to collide with a delivery truck carrying Furbys (the talking furry animal toys that are also made by Transformers maker Hasbro). The truck is on a gimbal, which allows it to swing up and stand perpendicular to the street, as if knocked on its end. The idea is that the Furbys will be knocked from the truck, in flames, then activate when the Energon cube flies overhead. "We just wanted to have burning Furbys on the ground, you know?" Bay said with a laugh. "We're going to be blowing up a lot of little Furbys." Transformers is currently in production, with an eye to a July 4, 2007, release. —Patrick Lee, News Editor

glad to see that production keeps going smoothly.. yeah, it's a little disappointing that Megatron isn't in his 'original' mode, but i guess for purposes of the movie, having him transform into a Walther P-38 wouldn't have been as interesting.. (the toy had attachments that made it a 'laser' blaster, but the Walther was the base model)

Megatron''s gun mode wa a great toy, but makes no sense for the character. For him not to transform in to a mode that is a - tiny; b- immobile and 3- needs someone else to hold him makes much more sense.

Yeah, tank-mode suits him best, like in Generation 2, or the Infiltration series. I guess that's why Armada Megatron had a tank mode, although lately they've gone for planes in the toys as well.

Yeah, the trailer does have a cool "War of the Worlds meets Terminator" vibe to it.  This is definitely a Must See alongside Spidey 3, Daddy's Little Girls, FF 2, Ghost Rider, and TMNT.

I reckon they're keeping a few things under wraps until later - Megatron's Earth mode, Prime's voice (although we know what it'll sound like. It's just they know the Transfans will be like "OMG Peter Cullen!"). I think you're looking at a few months until either of those cme out.

Having a Transformer switch modes is child's play.

Now, when an amateur can show Transformers chasing people and destroying lots of property as in the movie trailer, then I'll be impressed.

Childhood nostalgia must give way to real world physics.  It's similar to how the live action Batman must dress in an all-Black costume to really blend in with the shadows.  The blue/grey outfit won't work as cool as it is.

What's funny, and maybe ironic, is that Shockwave turned into a giant space gun, but never shrunk. I always thought the point of that was if Megatron ever needed someone to "rain down fire from the heavens" he could just call on Shockwave to do a spread shot (something similar happened anyway early in the Marvel comics version of Transformers). But imagine if Megatron HIMSELF turned into something similar, that's be scary as heck. Galvatron turned into a mobile mortar cannon, which was an upgrade from handheld gun fired by a lackey, but its still no gigantic space gun that can be fired from the sky.

I kinda wish they had did that for the movie, but I'm sure he'll look cool as a plane.

Kind of a side not, but in one of the Alien movies (2 or 4), the ship looked like one of the guns the Marines carried.

Yeah. Volkswagon wouldn't allow them to use the Bug since they don't want that car associated with war...

It would have made sense for him to look like any other smaller cars around. How big is the Ford Focus or Ford Escort? Or the Toyota Scion? Still the Mustang might work.

Great movie. It stayed true to the best it could to our child hoods. Pime kicks ass and is exactly how Cap should be if he ever makes the big screen. Unfortunate whith what happened to jazz as he was one of my favorites coming up. Non stop action that every one is going to love. Just dont get caught up in characters outside of the main 2, this was a fun action movie and not a true deep one.

"It's just me and u Megatron!"

"No, it's just me!"

Somone needs to tell Michael Bay to pull that camera back, damn! Man alot of explosions and sound and couldn't see sh*t! Wish I could have enjoyed it as much as yall, pretty sure after a second viewing I'll enjoy it more. Was falling asleep waiting for my mans O.P. to make his entrance, at one point forgot I was watching Transformers, don't know how anyone can say it's non stop action and black people being obnoxious to their elders like Bernie Mac and Anthony Anderson is so played out.

So O.P. and Megatron finally get it on......................and all the screentime goes to Starscream taking out fighter planes in the air!?  Been waiting for that rematch ever since Megatron took my mans out in the animated movie. And what was up with the house scene yall, every other second them fools was hounding the young kid, first it's "Autobots hide" then "autobots fall back" that ish got mad campy. I'm jus playin yall, movie was cool with me, that energon blade O.P. had he took to Bonecrusher's dome was sweet! Megatron whipped everyone's butt up in that piece though, Jazz got smashed!

Yall saw Starscream go into space at the end right, sequel anybody? Droppin Megatron in the ocean!? Lame! Should have melted that bad boy. What was the deal with the stereo was that Soundwave or what!? Props for having the original voice of O.P., Peter Cullen up in there though. That comment Megatron made to Starscream when he got out of the Hoover Dam was classic, "Starscream u fail me once again!" The slogan on the cop car was on point too, "to punish and enslave" if anyone is the overseeers in this day and age it's the pigs.

Side note to die hard fans, did yall know Orson Welles played the voice of Unicron in the cartoons? lol Just found that out. Hope the game is better than that 2004 bull shucks that came out. Any of yall like that Beast Wars or Beast Machines that came out years ago?

Bring on the Voltron movie now anyone?

In all fairness, this movie was fit to bursting with Black actors in significant roles like Bernie Mac, Anthony Anderson, and especially Tyrese.  And all those guys made it to the end credits.

Contrast this to the past when the Black guy killed was the only Black character in the movie.  So, Transformers is major progres by that standard.

Saw this one with my fiancee and her best friend's husband and two kids...  I think there was a steep learning curve for anyone under the age of 25... most of the kids in the theatre were either bored and fidgety, or dead asleep.. Their parents didn't care though, because everyone was too busy clapping when OP gave the "One shall stand, one shall fall" throwaway line :D

Saw it twice already.  Which is a personal record for me and any Michael Bay production.

exactly...
--- on the old cartoons, I think the only other black voice I recognized was Blaster, the boombox..
-- in the film, I notice Jazz' voice was the son on Family Matters, Darius McCrary..

I wanted the climax to end differently.. I wanted Megatron to have a more violent demise, by Prime's hand, and not the Matrix..

also, was there any "secret" footage in the credits after Starscream takes off into orbit?

in the next film, I want less humans and more Transformers-- and more dialogue between the Transformers!

Hopefully Bernie Mac and Anthony Anderson will get a cameo in part 2..  and also hopefully Michael Clarke Duncan will get a role (he says he got passed over..)

At the risk of threadjacking..  internet speculation on this project, and the exact meaning of the name has run rampant.. I wouldn't be surprised if this was simply a Godzilla/Gamera remake, and all of the fanbratti got their knickers in a twist for next to nothing...

I'm pretty much over J.J. Abrams and his ridiculous level of self-importance.. After all of the hype, he's shaped up to be a merely adequate talent in Hollywood.. certainly not worth the acclaim he gets from the comic L33t over at the other sites..

After work today I took the subway over to Times Square and saw Transformers in crisp DLP (Digital Projection).  First I have to say that Michael Bay cannot make a movie with any semblance of a real plot to save his life.  And all his character never approach anywhere near being three dimensional but I knew all this when I purchased my ticket.  I realize that when you see one of Bay’s movies you leave your brain at the door and expect great action but nothing else.  I also didn’t appreciate the clownish black characters portrayed by Anthony Anderson and Bernie Mac.  I guess they couldn’t find a way to fit Jar Jar Binks into the story.  :)

Now for the good stuff, the special effects and action sequences were excellent.  This is what summer blockbusters are about creating something spectacular.  A agree with True Father 7 that Bay should had made the fight sequences a bit less frenzy so you could tell what exactly was happening.  Those were some great sequences and we should have been able to see every frantic detail.

I am not a Transformers fan so I am not watching this full of nostalgia.  I watched the old animation show now and again during the 80s but never became a fan.  This movie will not make me a fan because it is far from perfect but it had the best action sequences I have seen this summer and it is worth the price of admission.

This is true.

I also didn’t appreciate the clownish black characters portrayed by Anthony Anderson and Bernie Mac.

To be fair, there are shady, fast-talking used car salesman (Black, White, etc.) who are like Mac's character.  It's not PC to say so, but it's true.

As for Anderson's role, it wasn't his funniest though I was on the floor when he swiftly cracked during the FBI interrogation.  (Hey, not every guy is an action hero.)  Anderson did redeem himself by hotwiring the computer and old transmitter to call in the USAF.  It's nice to see the Black computer geek get a heroic scene.

Another plus in both characters' favor is that they aren't the only Black people in the movie.  If you want a super-tough, smart hero, Tyrese's USAF character fit the bill nicely.  That range is normally lacking in action films, which are normally content with one Black token in an otherwise White world.  So, that is a step forward for Michael Bay and his ilk.

Quote
I guess they couldn’t find a way to fit Jar Jar Binks into the story.  :)

Actually, Mac and Anderson were quite restrained compared to Jar Jar, who's second to a gangsta rapper in terms of being a walking Black stereotype.

I agree in certain parts (Bumblebee vs. Barricade) the fights could have been clearer.  Still, Bay just has an eye from fast-paced, explosion happy battle sequences.  I'm especially appreciative this summer because there has been a lack of cool action in popcorn flicks.

I am not a Transformers fan so I am not watching this full of nostalgia.  I watched the old animation show now and again during the 80s but never became a fan.  This movie will not make me a fan because it is far from perfect but it had the best action sequences I have seen this summer and it is worth the price of admission.

Well, I guess Bay accomplished his mission of crafting a Transformers blockbuster that would appeal to fans like myself as well as non-fans.

"Man, talk about the wrong stuff!"

MB use to be my boy.

WTF is this movie?  I liked what I SAW...to a point.  The story was...beyond words.  Those two writers are hacks and a half, not an orig. thought between the two.

Ater 90 mins or so it's just hardware rolling around on the ground together and military bringing everything but the kitchen sink.

John Turturro needs to be slapped.  How do you do Do the Right Thing, Jungle Fever, Barton Fink, Big Lebowski, and Miller's Crossing then phone in a performance like that?

These are probably things that have been said already (I didn't read the rest -- 8 pages, man!)

For the summer I like Die Hard, SpiderMan...this is a distant third...for me.

Oh, and WTF was up with the Star Wars droid acting all dopey?  If they wanted to set-up Soundwave that was not the way to do it...IMO.

Man, I had to come back.

Maybe I was a tad too harsh.

I saw this wit' my wife, my 9 yr. old girl, my 12 yr. old nephew, and my brother-in-law.  I admit there were a few (I stress few) exciting moments and we found ourselves  :o"ooh-ing and aww-ing" :o but damn.

I just have two words -- Source. Material.  Oh, and: Make. It. Work. (I'm gonna be a dope producer ;) -- hehe)

What I said about John T. still stands though -- I'm not backing down from that. >:(

I'm an old Transformers fan from when I was a kid. I was real excited to go see the movie. But, I have to say, though the special effects were off the chain, I did think alot of the dialogue was a bit corny. In fact, some of the scenes were a bit corny altogether. However, I don't think I wasted my money. It was good, I just think the plot could have been much better. If anything Michael Bay pulled off a live action mecha movie. For those of us who used to play the Mechwarrior videogames on the PC and Xbox, this movie shows they could come out with a slammin flick about that which would probably be a more story rich sci-fi movie if you get the right writers to come up with a decent plot. In fact, the scene where the Decepticon attacks the army base in the beginning of the movie reminded me of a Mechwarrior.

I really enjoyed the movie.  I was laughing from the beginning to end and was on the edge of my seat.  My teenage daughters had a better time watching the movie then me.  Although my oldest daughter was ohhhing and awwwing over Tyresse and the action, my youngest was on the same page w/ me on how funny, the action and storyline were cool w/ us; easy to understand.  Great movie and as always I had great company w/ me to see it.

Yeah, those parts would fall under the stuff I thought was "corny" in the movie. But, for the most part, the movie was geared more for the youngins'(even with some of the mature themes and violence) anyway. Even more so then us old timers that were kids when Transformers actually came on the scene. It's all about selling that toy line and merchandise based off the movie in the end, so it's understandable.

I thought Megatron partially configured into a gun?  Hard to tell with all of the jittery camera work, but I thought that was a tasty bit of homage.. just like his backhanded retort to Starscream, and the visual of the crappy VW Beetle in the car lot a few spaces down from Bumblebee..

Enough for the old-schoolers to get misty-eyed on, without getting embarassed in front of the twenty-somethings...

Actually, the writers stated that Megatron would not transform into a gun. they said they wanted him to change into something more befitting his size. So I guess we got some type of rocket plane.

I was kind of hoping Megatron would have been defeated by Starscream.  Megatrom would have Optimus on the ropes and just when it looks like Starscream was gonna join in the fun, he blasts Megatron from behind.  Would teach Megatron a lesson for being such as bastard to Starscream earlier in the movie.

When I read this I was just like WTF (the writers quote, not the post).  Make him turn into a Stinger Missile Battery or a Javelin-type shoulder launcher that 2 Decepticons have to heft and fire or something of the like -- I don't what it is just as long as it's a gun

Now that's a good Idea! Megatron should have blasted on SS when he told him you failed me and then in that brief 2 second azz kickin OP took from Meg -- BOOM! SS helps do him in.  You should be a writer Jesse... if you aren't already

I just watched this week's installment of “Ebert & Roeper”.  On the show the critic Dave Karger from Entertainment Weekly commented about how he was offended that the African American males were depicted as "raving lunatics".  If even a White critic can note the offensive nature of the characters, then I would have to conclude that the criticism has merit.  My opinion is still that the over the top stereotypical characters did not fit into this kind of kid friendly summer film.  If it was a satirical black comedy, I would feel differently about the characters appearance.

I have to admit when Anderson's buddy crashed thru the glass door to get away, I laughed my ass off.

That said, you've got a point. I've got far more problems with Bernie Mac's character clowinsh used car dealer than I do A. Anderson's cowardly hacker (Kevin Smith plays the EXACT SAME CHARACTER in Live Free or Die Harder) .

Otherwise, I'm kinda disappointed with this movie. The camera never slows down enough to allow the viewer to see the fighting, The Autobots are supporting characters to the human characters (who I didn't give a rat's ass about) and not enough Starscream.

Starscream's treacherous back and forth with Megatron is one of Transformers better set pieces.

I STILL like the animated flick better than this, whch suprises even me.

Hope the sequel will be better.

Frank Miller creates negative black characters. Jazz got killed in this film. Are we getting the right people for this job?

I'm way more pissed that they used all GMC cars (Bumblebee is a VW Bug, DAMMIT! ;D) than I am about them offing Robo-brother Jazz(who was supposed to be a Porsche, IRRC).

BTW, what exactly did A. Anthony's Master Hacker do after being sprung by the Feds?
He kinda disappears from the movie.

Well, Anthony Anderson was the one who sent the morse code via the mcguyver'd computer.

and i wasn't a fan of the voice work for Jazz.  he was over the top "hip hop" and that didnt sit well for me. it sucked that he died, but that wasn't the real jazz anyway.

the friend who ran thru the glass window was hella funny. i wasn't embarrassed as a black man by that scene. i'm glad that dude got some work since 8 mile.

Starscream went out like a biya.. well, like starscream.  When the situation got hot, that muthasucka get out of dodge.  i didnt know starscream was capable of space flight.  Don't they knew somebody like AstroTrain to get them around in space>?

And I didn't mind GMC having the exclusive vehicle rights for this movie.  I'm a purists on certain things, but since it's 2007, i can accept that things change.
i wouldn't want 1980s vehicles in a 2007 movie.
yes, they could have gotten the new bug, but... that wouldn't have been visually pleasing to me.
The new Bumblebee was a soldier and he had a good luck.

i'm lookin' forward to a sequel.
i think i liked Die hard 4 better.

And for the most part, the car-to-robot scale was okay.  Some worst than others, but frenzy was good until he became a phone.  i wasn't feeling that.
I sure wish I could have gotten soundwave though.

Poor Eddie Winslow...but I figure Ratchet is a field surgeon, and therefore doesn't have the expertise to bring someone back to like like a Frankenstein scientist would. That would be WHEELJACK'S territory, so hopefully he'll be in the sequel and revive Jazz. And somehow switch Bernie Mac's voice for Eddie Winslow's.

I wish they had kept Arcee in the movie. There's designs for her and they toy is coming out based off of those designs (should be by the end of this month or the beginning of next month, so look for them!), and I think she would have been a cool addition. The Decepticons had  a tiny fighter in Frenzy, so the Autobots having a counterpart in Arcee (since she's a motorcycle she would have been roughly the same height as an average height man) would have been cool. But there's always the sequel.

Man, I spend 3 weeks avoiding this thread, finally see the film and love it, and all I see is so much complaining! That was a fun film!

And how come no one's mentioned the pervy Autbot bit at the end, watching the humans getting dirty on top of Bumblebee! I was expecting Prime to say, "With the All_Spark gone, we cannot create any more Transformers. So we must learn to do it how the humans do it. Ratchet, come here.........."

Well, there were character designs for Arcee (she was going to be a black Autobot with pink trimming that turned into a motorcycle) but she got left out of the movie. So we know female Transformers exist in this universe...

Arcee was in Bumblebee's squad in the prequel comics that came out.

I agree, Jazz could have been better. I liked the bit where he was asking Prime 'we're not really going to let them [Sector Seven] take him [Bumblebee], are we?' It showed he was committed to his comrades (plus the animation of him swinging down to join Prime was phenomenal). However, it doesn't make up for his first line being 'what's crackin'' (was it 'what's crackin' bitches'? I can't remember).

It was "What's crackin' bitches"? and then he sat leisurely on a car.

I get what they were trying to do with him, but the sheer irony is that Bernie Mac sounds a whole lot like Scatman Crouthers without being him and retaining his own personality that its odd he's in the movie but not as Jazz's voice. But I guess why waste him if he was going to die.
