Title: HARD CHOICES: REGINALD HUDLIN SEQUEL
Post by: Marvelous on March 29, 2007, 12:39:17 am
I had to do it!  Which Reg movie would you like to see or think would be a great sequel?  Something he's been involved in...be it director, producer, writer, actor, etc.

I'd like to see a follow up to Birth of a Nation or just another collaboration between Reggie, Aaron McGruder and Kyle Baker.

reggie, back before jet li and sammo hung were even known to americans, reggie proposed a green hornet flick to hollywood.  The premise was GH was a dumb fat cracker and Kato was the one behind it all (duh), but now kato was old (sammo hung) and they needed a new kato to help the new dumb green hornet out.  Enter Jet Li.  Watahhh.  Needless to say the movie was deemd "to awesome" and well there you go... :(

They're making this (not this exact one) but I recently read the film is on again and not the Kevin Smith version.

can i just get reggie reg to follow up on boomerang or House Party?

I mean... kid n play... married(kid) and play(still a playa)... old and grown... throwin' a HOUSE Party.
ol' skool party.

and since they are our age, then they will have ol' skool r*b party with some hip hop.  Cuz they gotta dance and rap.

police show up. hilarity ensues and some find full force... I smell P****!!!

rappers from their/our era show up as guests...not themselves.

a blue lights in a basement party...probably in play's new house (but it isn't really his.  He's not ballin' like he is lettin' ppl think.  he just set up show in a preview house.  Hahahhaha. cool, huh?)

agree with me doggonit!

Boomerang 2...to bring Eddie, Martin and David back for a sequel might be a little far fetched but I would definately go check it out.  Bring Chris back for a bigger roll would be a great addition.

Boomerang 2: Eddie, Martin (he needs the work), David (ditto) can be done, but who gonna pony up the cash to get Eddid and Martin in the same movie?

Second Choice:

The Great White Hype: I always thought of it as a satire rather than a parody, per se. There was a New York Post writer that was the basis for the Jeff Goldblum character, IRRC.

Like to see the current fight game raked over the coals.

The actual sport of boxing is doing a good enough job of that on it's own! ;D

I'd pay to see a "real time" sequel. Maybe Marcus and Angela in business together, with kids (or not). DAG and Martin (Gerard and Tyler)--bachelors for whom the game is getting old. But how would they explain Angela's new nose? Who could explain how Yvonne (Tisha Campbell) is still Marcus' venomous neighbor? Who would be the white comedian shoehorned into the cast? (You know some marketing genius would claim it had to be done.)

Wanted to bring it back for the new comers in the HEF.  Also to see if any ideas changed.

'Boomerang' is unquestionably my favorite romantic black comedy of all time but wouldn't want to see a sequel to it.

Instead,  why not a spiritual successor to 'Boomerang'?
