It could be impactful to have him evolve as his beliefs are challenged (Rocket) and subject to an arc that is effected by a fight that he can't use his powers to overcome? Make him have to come to grips with the persistence of institutional racism and racial inequality. How does one of the most powerful beings on the planet deal with racial micro aggressions, ignorance and bigotry when punching someone in the face is not appropriate? But there should still be some appropriate punching in the face!

My Two Cents

Peace,

Mont

Just from my impressions of reading Issue #0 I don't think they are going to make Icon a conservative. He came across more like a disconnected alien who sometimes dabbled into human affairs until he meets Raquel. During this time of polarization I don't know if you can write a comic about a principled black conservative superhero in an age of Candace Owens, Diamond & Silk, Ben Carson, etc.
