I just wish MM would stop using so much Digi Video.  Gives the pic an indie feel when we know it's not -- it deserves nothing but the best celluloid, IMO.

John Tucker Must Die.. I've got an old classmate by that name.. wish I knew where he was so I could clown him..
Easily solved:
1- Get a phone book;
2- Call every John Tucker in there;
3- When they answer, shout "YOU MUST DIE! HA HAH HAH!"
4- Then ask, "So, what school'd you go to?" If it's not your old school, select the next John Tucker, and repeat steps 3 & 4. If it is the John Tucker you know...;
5- Then ask, "So what about that John Tucker Must Die film? Pretty funny, eh?"

If you try every John Tucker in the book, without a response, find the phone book for the next state, and repeat.

Sam, what did you think of the movie?

I thought it was excellent.  As usual, michael mann created a visual masterpiece, the movie was all business.  Story wise very precise, no filler all meat.  From a police technical aspect, as usual michael mann never fails to disspoit with his realistic potrayal of gun fights and hand to hand combat.  I'll buy the dvd for sure.

The trailer park set piece was perfection.

saw the movie and im like sam, you have to ignore the press. i actually think that it was too technical and smart for some people. im glad that we actually get to see the true money makers in the drug game portrayed. the corner level guys may make a mil or two but these guys are making billions. the gun fights were awesome. this is going to be great on dvd with the dts on full blast.

I saw it opening weekend and thought it was very good.  I think that the people that didn’t like it were overly nostalgic for the old show and wanted references to it.  This was a new modern day reinterpretation done right.

I'm gonna pass because I don't particularly like Jamie Fox...if I hear him say "I'm gonna make it do what it do" one more time, I might throw up.

I like Collateral (even though that freak Tom Cruise is in it) but for the most part, I just find him annoying.

Add that to the fact that it seems to be little like the series, I'll pass.

I wanted to see this movie alot,but they snatched it out of Long Beach so fast that I barely got a chance to start looking when it was gone.
I like Jamie Foxx AND Tom Cruise.IMO they are both intelligent,very talented and STILL underestimated.Anybody who can go from THE LAST SAMURAI to VANILLA SKY gotz skills,period point blank.And anybody who can go from Willie Beamon to the taxicab driver in COLLATERAL mos def has skillz.Respect that there.

I'm hunting for the DVD now...but it's hard to find.

Just watched on DVD.  This flick is about 15-20 years too late.  Every movie since the show that has dealt with the subject of trafficing has tried to emulate the show so when "the show" finally decides to make a movie it just comes off as dated.

Also, the casting was all wrong.  Jamie was just okay.  Farrell was totally out of pocket.  Their boss (dude -- jazz club owner from Collateral) not believable at all.   Gong Li's character (obviously Chunese) grew up in Havana, Cuba, Angola, wherever else, speaks fluent Espanol everything under the sun except Mandarin that facet of the story was just too far fetched (possible yes, likely no).

I like the whole DV style of photography and the shoot-out was okay (Heat's was WAY better).

Collateral was a better movie.
