Title: Africana Spirituality
Post by: Greg on May 10, 2010, 12:16:12 pm
I'm very intrigued and curious: Are there any posters here who follow/believe in African-based spirituality/beliefs/religion? This includes the various Vodou or Vodun religion, etc.

There is the Santeria faith: http://www.orishanet.org/santeria.html

The Spiritual Baptist faith also incorporates African  and Roman Catholic traditions.

I don't follow any, but I've done much research on African religions in general and a few specifically, such as Yoruba religion and it's various off-shoots (Santeria). The subject is so varied because every tribe has it's own belief. There are generalities that are common but on the most part they are uniquely different. I know a few brothers and sisters that study Kemetic (Egyptian) philosophy.
