Latest Flicks / Re: "Lady Bird"...Silver Linings
« on: Today at 04:58:34 am »
My kid asked to see Justice League
But "Lady Bird" was more on my radar
So I went by myself to go see "Bird" first
When we went to "League" it was sold out
Thinking of the family theme from "Lady Bird"
I rushed downtown with him to see "Bird" again
The next day, we saw the "Justice League" movie
Since he was in grade school we critique our movies
I asked which was better Thor or the "Justice League"
He told me "League" was better than the "Thor" movie
Then at McDonalds I asked him which was a better movie
The "Lady Bird" movie or the Justice...he said the "Lady Bird"

Just good enough
Not to be bad
Like a song

Woody Harrelson wants to make a statement, I suppose
But I don't get the Rob Reiner part though
Baby Boomers and the Kennedys
Time to grow up

My main attraction
Was good reviews on NPR
Confused I went to see Woody's "LBJ"
Finally made it to "Lady Bird" of Sacramento
It almost made me feel like I was back in Philadelphia
There remains a "Silver Lining" in the many playbooks of "Love"

How many climaxes can one movie have?

I apologize
But from a perspective
The routine "Race" conversation...production
Has so far to date given us little more than President Donald Trump

The Trayvon Martin thing was kinda cute
I am glad that they got SAG cards
But as to Black History 101
It's become routine

Somewhere along the way I saw the European (significant) Russell Brand
He was on some U-Tube on some Black American radio station
They asked him a point blank racial question
His answer was much better
Than their question
.
Only in the mind
Of Minolta
.
Too funny

In Philly TODAY a major subject, raised by Donald Trump's Chief of Staff
Is the supreme integrity of General Robert E. Lee
Meanwhile all the (ML) King's men
Remain as Hidden Figures
As everyone awaits
A 1861 remake
.
Too funny

Latest Flicks / Suburbicon: Pristine View
« on: October 29, 2017, 01:52:22 am »
Suburbicon was all that I had hoped for it to be and more
Far removed from the rural world of "Fargo"
Succeeding past "Falling Down"
Even the direction
Gets Out
A gem

In The News / Re: cub scout grills GOP state senator at meeting
« on: October 23, 2017, 05:38:54 pm »
Off-topic but somewhat related to Hype's post:

I hear in the newsfeed that by the end of the week, the JFK assassination records are set to go public.
Question: What will the release of these documentations reveal?

Answer:

That gun violence in America was merely 'quaint' in the 1960s compared to 'epidemic' in the 2010's.

Gas on a fire
Or 'Par for the course'
Just some more conspiracy stories
For clueless Democrats (and Republicans)

Well I finally got the website up
https://ojsimpsonandthemillionmanmarch.com/
Now I have to think of an ad campaign with my paycheck
My last campaign consisting of flyers on urban telephone poles apparently fell flat
Time to play on my theories of the suburban psyche and the White curiosity for/of the Black American psyche

Acting / Idris Elba...Say It Ain't So
« on: September 28, 2017, 08:07:08 pm »
In the "Dark Tower" and now "A Mountain Between Us"
It seems Mr. Elba who now has his pick of roles
Seems to be steering for Black savior
I don't think Gunga Din
Is gonna cut it
.
Ask Sammy

Don't really remember any outstanding performances on or off the field
But he had a get up and go that to this very day
Has done far more than I have
Yes, I remember
Bernie
