I'm not really shocked at the Wrinkle news... I'm starting to think Duvernay is the cinematic equivalent of our burden TNC: Made her name doing socio-political stuff, but can't actually craft a fantastic story all that well. I mean, looking at her CV, most of her stuff has either been historical or documentaries, and all of it was about the African-American experience in some way.I remember how at one point blerds were getting too excited on her and I was like this is not her element in action sequences.
I shudder to think what her BP would have been like. I really do.
What Warner Bros. Needs to Do to Replicate Black Panther's SuccessNot feeling Icon. His origin is just Superman with a "twist". Instead of trying to "be like marvel" why not beat them by providing a film starring black woman that has "African ties". That black woman as a heroine is Vixen. Its part of why Marvel made tons of money with the strong representatives of black women.

It's good to have goalsIndeed the most powerful scene was the "debate" with four black women regarding the innocent boy whom was assaulted in prison. The coon ass officer (without evidence) beat the boy just because he "knew" Luke Cage. The barbershop mom, Misty, Inspector and Mariah. You don't see that often on TV.This show has a full roster of beautiful and talented women of color
