Solid movie.

Something was missing but I am not sure what it was.

I was surprised and loved how gritty it was. I think this and Rouge One are the best of this new era. Collective gaps from the audience towards the end was a special moment.

Too bad there is really nothing you can do with the gasp character. His whole arc including death played out across the cartoons.

his ending in Rebels was perfect but if they planned on doing this, they shouldn't have done it. Him being the antagonist in an Obi solo would have been perfect.

As long as its in the multiverse as advertised, Im willing to give it a fresh start and pretend like the first two arcs never happened.

If this is a jumping on point for new readers, that is pretty much what you would have to do anyway.

I fully expect to get my hopes up with issue 1, start to feel the drag by 4, roped back in by a twist/splash page at 6, resign myself to disappointment by going "well if he sticks to landing..." then throwing my hands up in disgust at 12 while getting into arguments about how coates cant write

He had some of the flip, crazy sh*t  elsehwere in the movie too. for example

He also from memory had that triple kick against Cap and flipped to avoid an arrow against hawkeye

Everytime I watch BP, I actually lijke the action more and more.

When I initially saw it, I was too busy comparing it to russo style action to notice how varied and cool the BP action scenes were.

Since then, i've come to appreciate it. Lighten up the first Nigerian scene and its that much better lol

Dont you guys think that the movie was unfair for Killmonger? T'Challa, in the final fight, was powered by the herb. Also, he got additional time and strategic help from Shuri.

I mean, it was not a legit victory for T'Challa.

Watching it again tonight reminded me that the initial fight is actually rigged against T'Challa.  At the beginning of the fight he is stripped of his powers.  It is supposed to make him equal, but it actually doesn't.  If you are used to fighting at level 12 and you are suddenly reduced to level 9, that would be like you or me fighting with a blindfold on and weights on our hands and feet.  To him, would feel like fighting while submerged in mud. It's actually a testament of his skill and will for him to fight and win.

Yep.

At that point, T'challa had had powers for 10 years.

That is why I love that scene though. And why when people act like T'challa "isnt' good at martial arts" I am so confused.

Dude was used to having powers for 10 years, had them stripped and went up against a guy who was stronger than sh*t... and outfought him and used his MA skills to choke the life out of him.

Well unfortunately the final fight doesn't happen there. Otherwise it would of been really cool, I would of preferred that, but at the same time they probably wanted a different scenery and a way to actually kill Erik

they needed a way to get around the vibrainium suits. Train allowed that.

T'Challa himself never to my knowledge officially met Odin on page, unless it was part of the group of Avengers when they went to Asgard on any number of occasions. However, as King of the Dead, T'Challa has access to the memories of BASHENGA, who actually formed the very first Avengers with a YOUNG Odin, back in 1,000,000 B.C. Right?

They have not confirmed or denied it being bashenga

I don't think it is. T'challa rightfully said there were no humans back then. Odin said soething about cavemen with the power of gods

So, it was some sort of pre human cave man

Hi, sorry for the double post. However, I saw the movie again.

In the first ceremonial battle for the throne, Killmonger says something like: ‘This is for my father’ and went to make the killing blow. Zuri then stopped him from killing T’Challa.

So yes, someone interfered in the battle

in the first battle yes.

You didn't say the first fight lol.

and that didn't change anything. He still had T'challa dead to rights and chose to throw him over a waterfall due to movie logic

Unless they met during that weird western/asguardian Priest arc, I can't remember if Odin was around or not

Gamora, Loki and Hemdall are in serious trouble.

Idris has said he is done.

Some Heimdell is for sure gone.

Geez, I gotta ask you (MOS) the same question? Real BP victories? examples?

I am not the one that claimed there were no victories in Rise

Quote

Of course I’m biased. I’m the “W.W.O.--guy”! Hi, hey there! My BP can kick their BP’s asses!

Wwo is a real vic!  I wont go into all the wins because WWO won years ago. Still victorious, unmatched & unchallenged. Before a solo/solos or film. No hubris- that would misrepresent ‘the work’ that solidifies my point. Sorry not sorry. WWO

So 1.3 stories worth of narration with nothing on panel in an alternate universe = real victory

on panel victories against villains = highlights.

Am I understanding that right?

Real victories & ‘game high-lights’ are two different things.

Examples of BP's on comic real victories please, to help solidify your point.

- won the tribal tournament
- stopped the people on the boat trying to get vibranium out
- took literally no damage from namor while hurting Namor, successfully rescued captured/kidnapped Wakandans while also getting contingency protocols on Atlanteans
- defeated WS while testing various tech theories and also using it to show diplomats who and what he was.
- successfully threatens UN members to get a seat at the table
- tchalla and shuri team up to wipe Wakanda's location/teleportation data from Doom's database. all of Shuri's tech was provided by T'challa
- defeats jakarra

in 4 issues mind you. The first issue was a T'chaka issue.

You notice stuff when you actually read the issues instead of previews.
