Here is the trailer to the film I wrote and directed.  Unfortunately I hosted it on zshare so you'll have to download it.  Anyone know where I can put it so that it will run as soon as you click on the page?

Vox Populi / Since Zee locked the John Kerry thread...
« on: November 01, 2006, 05:46:54 pm »
I'll exercise my rights as a participating member of this forum by opening another one.

In our last episode, the last thing Zee said was:

Please don't ignore my condescending tone.  It's critical to the effect of my responses.
None of the articles/links that you posted substantiates or justifies the statements that
John Kerry made regarding the lack of education of the United States Military.  You are
wishful thinking and grasping at straws.

The fact is that U.S. Military is the best trained and educated military on earth.

New recruits are already on active duty status. The Army is no longer discharging ppl
for minor disciplinary infractions in order to keep the attrition rate down.  I've already
addressed this.  It has nothing to do with their education level.  I would ask you to
please open your mind.

I didn't ignore anything.  I did not see any facts that supported your claims.

The bottom line is that John Kerry has once again put his foot in his mouth and sadly
he is unable to remove it.  Get over it.

And that being said - I shall have the last word on this for the time being and I will
exercise my control of this thread by closing it.

Thank you for your time and participation.

Then she pulled the internet equivalent of, "I'm taking my ball and going home."  How third grade.

My turn.

Sister Zee, I'll continue ignoring your condenscending tone, because my elder's raised me to respect Black women...regardless of party affiliation  ;).  First of all, it has been proven time and again in every news outlet in the world (Fox exluded, of course) that Kerry missspoke.  He went off his notes and blew a joke by leaving out a couple of words.  Why would a decorated vet insult the military?  Here's what he was supposed to say:
Kerry's office said the Democratic senator had misread prepared remarks, which said: "Do you know where you end up if you don't study, if you aren't smart, if you're intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq. Just ask President Bush."
Here's the link: http://mediamatters.org/items/200611010012
In the end, this is much ado about absolutely nothing.  Kerry has apologized for a misunderstandood statement.

As to my links, they clearly state that the US military has had to lower its standards to meet its quotas...which was my initial point.

As far as the US military being the best trained and educated on Earth, I'll have to take your word for it since you didn't bother posting any links proving that claim.  But at the same time, for every PHD in uniform, there's more than likely a dropout or two, wouldn't you think?

Thank you for your time and participation.
