Black Panther / Batwings
« on: June 11, 2011, 10:18:59 am »
Unless you have been under a rock ya'll know DC is doing a 52 book reboot. One of the book is a DC book called Batwing or Batwings. He is going to be an African based superhero dealing with both fictional and real problems in his country of Tenesha. Judd Winick is writing the book and for the stuff that I read is everything that we wish the Black Panther was. I tell you DC HAS IT PROBLEMS WITH A 52 BOOK REBOOT but a solid story with a black superhero protecting black folks in a black city what more can you ask fo. I encourage everybody to buy this book. If you want to read more try Batman Inc.

Black Panther / Black Panther on the Avengers

i have been so disappointed by the recent comic book offerings that I have looked everywhere for satisfaction. Black Panther on the Avengers is well done. T'Challa is confident, smart, resourceful and could step to lead at any moment. The episode Panther's Quest in which T'Challa get his spotlight was exceptionally good. All your basic elements are there T'Chaka, Man-Ape, Klaw, in Wakanda. I loved it. Hopefully T'Challa will get more screen time but the episodes are great watch while waiting for the highly anticipated DVD.

Black Panther / Wakanda in X-Men Forever
« on: January 08, 2011, 06:45:59 pm »
Chris Claremont has been writing some of the best stories concerning Wakanda in the past few months. Those of you that have had X-Men Forever 1 AND 2 off your radar..go get these books. Claremont is a writer who understands the Black Panther and his relationship with Storm. Although STORM screws over T'Challa the best elements are still there.

I have always been intrigued by Priest's run of the Black Panther. One of the best parts of the book is the Hatut Zeraze..The Dogs of War. Although their methods was harsh, I don't think DoomWar would happened if the Dogs were still around. What I think what would be really cool because of Wakandan's vulnerabilty because of DoomWar I think the Dogs should return. However I would like to see Shuri in charge as the New White Wolf or better yet the White Panther. Shuri new found skills would not go to waste and she would have an even more important role as the virtual Sec of State. In that same manner T'Challa needs to have his suit back. He is the Black Panther. He has alot to answer to because he virutally lost what has been protected since the days of the 1st Black Panther Bashenga. He needs a quest to find all the Vibranium still out there and bring it back to Wakanda. HEY why not blow up Castle Doom in the process.

Black Panther / T'Challa and the X-Men

I feel that since Shuri is the new Black Panther the logical way to go for him to do is join the X-Men with his wife Storm. Storm is an X-Man and will always be. T'cHALLA gets the chance to affiliated with another major group and the X-Man has a new source of financing. SHURI can keep her title without the influence of her big brother in the book. Any guy that can get along with his younger sister deserves a medal.

Black Panther / The Order of the Panther.
« on: June 07, 2010, 11:27:24 am »
In the 1988 mini-series I came across a Wakandan spy agency called the Order of the Panther. From what I gathered it was something that Black Panthers have used to gain intel on other countries and loyal only to the Chieftian of the Black Panther Clan. I got in contact with writer Peter Gillis and this is how he responded.

Denys and I wanted to a) break a bit away from T'Challa as Sidney Poitier--you know, wholesome, perfect and sexless--and imply that there's an awfullot you don't know about him. Hence his relationship with the mysterious Malaika. Similarly, the Order of the Panther was one of those continuity stones you throw out there into the darkness--a mysterious support network that wasn't called in on the current story line--that could be a) a gift to any future writer on the Panther or b) a built in cool thing if Denys or I ever returned to do the Panther.

I would love to see this group again. This would be a great answer to SHIELD. Plus I think their is alot potential with the Malika character a Wakandan version of the Black Widow.
