• T’Challa’s got royalty in his DNA, but does he have the loyalty of a goddess in his corner?
• Ororo Munroe, also known as Storm of the X-Men and former queen of Wakanda, is back in T’Challa’s life. But is it for good this time? Or will country come between a man and his queen again?

Princesa mentioned a Fantastic Four idea where Ororo and T'challa are the center. Ever since they became temporary members of the FF, I always thought a book like that would be good for them. First off, a cast of four is a small cast where everyone can get showcased. Secondly, everyone's powers can fulfill their niche on the team and you don't have characters overlapping in what they bring to the team resulting in one character being devalued for another. Well, anyway, there are a lot of good reasons for this. The line-up that came to my mind was T'challa, Ororo, Nightcrawler and Namor. Princesa had an idea exactly like mine save Namor swapped for Colossus on her team. What do you guys think? What would be your line up? I see T'challa for enhanced senses and tech expertise. Storm would be the powerhouse while she and T'challa can share leadership duties. This also brings the romantic element to the book. Nightcrawler is great for stealth and his teleportation power certainly comes in handy. He shares a close bond with Ororo and a long history with her while Namor has his friendship with T'challa. Namor's the "strong guy" on the team. Everyone's power is unique on the team and their personalities are very different.

Of course, I would also like to see a "Defenders" title with Storm and T'challa on the membership. Ororo, Dr. Strange, T'challa, Valkyrie, Namor OR Hulk, and Nightcrawler sounds like a perfect lineup to me.

Any other ideas? Any other title you guys would like to see the duo in or maybe a brand new team book centered around the two?

Black Panther / Storm's Doom!!!!

So what you are telling me now is that there is a possibility that we can only read about 616 Storm in the x-titles where she is reduced to less than wallpaper? Her power levels are downplayed in Astonishing hence I stopped reading the title a long time ago. She only shows up for a single panel every blue moon in Uncanny, hence I don't read that title. I know that we are going to get some shining moments for Storm in "DoomWar", but after that, it looks like us Storm fans are up the creek without a paddle. I really hope to God that she and T'challa are going to be featured in another book together where they will play prominent roles. Why did Marvel have to make Shuri the focus of the book when there was a change of writers? Many people's curiosity are piqued when a new writer is announced on a title and they pick up the title to give it a shot. When they picked the book up, they wanted to read about T'challa and Ororo, not his kid sister. Yes, the writer is very good and he wrote well, but Shuri does not have the following at this point of her existence as a character to be the main focus of a book and keep it afloat.

I want to know what happens with Storm now. I hope she gets featured in another title besides that crap going on in the x-titles where she's the invisible lady.

What is going to happen to Storm and Black Panther after "DoomWar"? Princesa says that BP#12 was the final issue of the title. Will the duo at least star in another title together if BP is cancelled?

Other Comics / Storm and Black Panther in New Avengers???

Can any of these be Ororo or T'challa?

I'm thinking this one may be Storm:

If I am wrong, who is she?

Black Panther / Storm and Cosmic Awareness
« on: January 10, 2010, 05:57:36 pm »
To my understanding cosmic awareness is the ability to perceive what is going on with the entire  cosmos at once in the universe entire. Say, if a hole where torn in reality 3 feet across at some point in the entire cosmo's, a being who's cosmic awareness was acute enough would be aware not only of this, but where the pinpointed location was, the reason behind the anomaly and what steps needed to be done to fix it.

While I cannot say for certain that Storm has this, I cannot say for certain that she does not as it would fit her powerset if a writer needed her to pull it off. She has been written with this kind of awareness on Earth. For instance, in Annual issue 12, Terminus came to Earth at the Savage Land and Storm, who was clear in Australia at the time, was able to sense his presence on the planet. It read to her like an abomination to the Earth itself and she raced out to meet him in battle. As we all know, she is connected to the planet's life force and to life itself in all its myraid forms. Hence she can detect the sickness in plants and communicate with them, detect the life force in all living things and has a unity with the life force of heavenly bodies. She can detect all natural occurances before they happen and energy in her environment as well as fluxuations in energy fields. This holds true while she is in space as well as she can do the same thing out there.

Now, in space, it seems she has a similar bond with the cosmos. I have frequently used the scan I above to show that Storm can perceive the universe, be it stars, planets, empty space, etc as patterns of energy and forces and bend them to her will. However, I would like to call your attention to the panel where she can detect the movement of the Brood in their shark ships moving through space. She is able to do this since she can perceive the entire universe as patterns of energy and forces (as you can see here) and she can "feel" disturbances in the energy field hence she was able to feel the brood moving through space. So say there is a hole in reality in a distant place in the cosmos, if Storm is out in space, she may be able to feel that as a disturbance in the energy field that composes empty space and be able to pinpoint it like she did Terminus on Earth. I am not saying that she has cosmic awareness for sure, but the possibility is definitely there and it fits her powerset if a writer needed her to do something like this in space.

Here is a scan of Storm feeling objects moving through water on Earth:

We saw in "Worlds Apart" where Storm was able to sense the Blackbird moving across the North American sky while she was clear in Wakanda. She then controlled the weather around the Blackbird and blasted it from from the sky.

Here, Storm connects with the core of an entire galaxy and sucks the core dry of all its energy :

Admittedly, this stunt left out in deep space unprotected as it destroyed her space-ship. She can only survive a few minutes out in space unaided as it was established between Uncanny 160 and 165 (one of those issues). This stunt came from Uncanny 165. In Uncanny 166, we see her floating aimlessly in deep space in the last moments of her life when the Acanti find her and heal her.

While she may not have cosmic awareness, her awareness of the patterns she can view, feel and manipulate could possibly reach as far as the universe itself.

Black Panther / Black Panther Relaunch #1
« on: February 04, 2009, 01:47:13 pm »
Just bought it.

Mr. Hudlin did himself very, very proud. Guys, be sure to read it for yourselves quick, fast and in a hurry! This issue is the best written so far and it leaves me anxiously waiting to see what is in store for us. Its a very good set up for things to come and its very well written.

Just read it, guys.

Black Panther / "War of Kings"

Do you guys think Storm and BP will aid the Inhumans? Storm has had plenty of experience with the Shi'ar and battling their Imperial Guard. The royal couple went to the moon in the earliest days of their marriage. Do you think BB and Medusa will ask BP and Ororo for help?

I hope so. What I would not give to see Storm face Gladiator!

I'd like to see the real thing take him on! This is one antagonist where standard weather manifestationsal attacks will not work. She'd have to use the more exotic aspects of her powers. Here, we see a Skrull impersonating Storm and using technology to imitate her powers battling Gladiator:

This better happen *after* BP 550. I don't want Storm and the Eternity thing being nullified or Storm destroying Stardust by manipulating his/her electrons like she did being written off as some type of Skrull thing. Man, I'm getting mad at Marvel already.  >:( >:( >:(

Black Panther / Great villains to turn up in Black Panther!!!
« on: November 06, 2007, 04:57:14 pm »
How many of you would like to see Thanos show up in Wakanda? I think it would be awesome to have a story arc where he needs vibranium for something and runs into Marvel's premier power couple. :D

How about doing something with this:

COCKRUM: "I hadn't heard that. I don't know how many readers ever noticed, but when the plane fell on her house, her mother was pregnant. I've always had this little germ of an idea in my head that she delivered in the wreckage and that Storm has a brother or sister somewhere. Chris has always been reluctant to do anything with that idea." [/B]

Lets say that Ororo has a brother or sister out there somewhere who turns out to be her arch-nemisis. I mean, if the person is a good guy/gal, it would be SOOOO boring (I think, I mean, bleh! :D). What if this person could have an awesome power like reality control? Make it different from Ororo's powers, but make it a power that would really give her a hard time in battle. LOL!
