The studio said they could not justify the cost with a Japanese cast.  At least they knew they couldn't whitewash it.

Hudlin TV / Re: Star Trek: Discovery

I'm late as hell but I just watched the first two episodes of season one and started the third right before the plane landed.  I'm hooked in a way I didn't expect.

I think serialized storytelling is the best format for Star Trek...better than the old series or the movies.  I can't wait to see more. CBS All Access finally got me.

I think this is the end of the line for R Kelly.

So tragic.  I hurt for his family and friends.

And while I knew of his work, I didn't know of his African American heritage.  It's a big new world.

Hudlin's Huddle / TEN PERFECT ALBUMS
« on: June 26, 2019, 08:21:46 pm »
As you might know, I've been making a list of perfect albums, where every track is a banger.  I just added ten more, bringing the list to 50 albums.  Check the ten new additions, then see what's on the original list.  See the main page at Hudlin Entertainment then come back here and post your thoughts.

cool clips-- those chairs seem comfortable!
Nice that DL was asking about comic books-- :-)
They were!  I was chillin'....

And he was truly stunned about me writing comics.  Love DL.  Such a smart, funny guy.

Hard Choices / Re: Lynda Carter or Gal Gadot?

It's really an unfair comparison.  Lynda Carter wins for staying power.  But Gal is...competitive.

Hard Choices / Re: Raptors or Warriors?

Brutal series!  all those injuries are really catching up to the Warriors.  And the Raptors are incredible.  How is everyone feeling now?

Congratulations! This is a long overdue recognition for a genius in this business. To have CA's portrayal in Searching for Sugarman be the only thing out there was unfortunate. Because he was truly the Godfather, he was stealth. Black talent didn't have a powerful advocate in the upper rooms until CA emerged.

I met him when I worked with SOS band on thier second album and later when I was working with Leon Sylvers.  He had an unassuming office in on Bev Hills side of Sunset Blvd. He was friendly and always open & accesible. Also, the most amazing collection of African American Art. He told me an amazing story of how he got his first house in Bev Hills. I'll share it with you the next time we connect.

This documentary comes out at an opportune time. We need to lift up & acknowledge those who made a difference while they are still here.

Man, you worked with SOS Band and Leon Sylvers?  That's some major talent there! So glad you liked the film!

Mr. Reggie, I heard you on Tom Joyner this morning!

I'll be checking out this weekend!

Wow- 75 interviews over 3 years?  how challenging was the editing process?
Very.  We had an ocean of material, most of it really good.  hard to choose what made the cut.

Cults are so terrifying to me.  We need more critical thinking in our society.

Writing / Re: Why Season 8 Game of Thrones writing feels off
« on: May 27, 2019, 08:55:10 pm »
Doesn't fell off to me. I enjoyed it.
I think people either couldn't accept that the show was finally ending, and/or believed that she was going to the savior of everyone instead of being the selfish, violent person she's always shown signs of being.
