The Clones are in.

Feel The Funk / Bobby Womack is back
« on: June 19, 2012, 02:23:33 pm »
The project is called "The Bravest Man in the Universe"

I just sampled it and it's nice.

It's different (there is definitely a euro electric dance music feel to it), but Bobby is a powerhouse and his soul just shines.

Some tracks and a cool timeline of his life/career is on the site:

They just had a episode of Unsung on him a while ago. It's good to see him come back around.

Gotta go with The Police.

I was watching it with my wife and she wouldn't stop talking, " I looked into the windows of her soul and said BEEEEEeeeee.........ich!" (j/k, quote from the show)

They have some classic material, def in the same discussion with Chappelle.

The Obama Anger Translator is my favorite....oh and the black news man that had to go up in the helicopter...I was crying.

The real work starts afterward when you're trying to recall all of the inside jokes and/or nods to other horror movies and discussing/arguing about the meaning of this or that.

Definitely fun for sci-fi and horror fans.

This is terrible.

When I was single, you had to worry about HIV, the Herp, a variety of STDs, etc......

You get married and think, " Ahhhh, Worry-free condom-less freak-fest".

Now this.

MacFarlane is on fire.

He just released an album of Jazz standards.  He's singing!

I'm not into the TV shows, but I'm digging this Renaissance Man thing.

I know!   That was my initial feeling too.  I wish they would have talked more about his reasons.

If he was a hometown kid, that would make sense....but he's not from Oakland.

I'm thinking he relished the underdog thing and didn't want to become part of the big payroll establishment he despised.  Maybe some ego mixed in there too.

It would also like to know what he got from the A's.  Was it half?  ...three quarters of the other offer?

I mainly went to see because it was filmed here in Oakland and I was at that 20th win game.

The wife and I ended up enjoying more than I thought we would. Come to think of it, she would've been happy looking at Pitt play Scrabble for 90 minutes.

Great movie.

The ending had me in knots.  Even now, I'm conflicted on what I would have done in his place.

I'm all electronic now.   I have the Barnes & Noble's Nook app on my tablet and my phone.  I can knock out a few chapters when-ever, where-ever.

Just finished Daniel Suarez's "Daemon" and halfway through the follow up "Freedom".

If you're into cyber-conspiracy type stuff, it's a good read.

The symbiotic relationship of THRILLER and PURPLE RAIN is such they have to be listed together.  THEY are the 80s.
