Could ICON work in 2021 with his politcal beliefs intact?

It just hit me that I should really check for Black comic book retailers.

Can anyone list their favorites?

One of the greatest writers and editors the industry has ever known.

So series of the year!

Best sport documentary ever?

Easily the best sports documentary of all time!

We have never had entry into the mind of an all time great in such an explicit fashion. The absence of any in-depth account of Jordan's 6 rings from the GOAT himself prior gives this even greater gravitas!

Let the Emmys flow!

Little Richard had so much enthusiasm and life within him it is hard to believe he is now gone.

I truly hope he gets the tribute and recognition he rightly deserves.

Hudlin TV / Re: (Netflix) Self-Made: Madame C.J. Walker series
« on: May 06, 2020, 08:44:16 pm »
Saw this one weeks ago and was underwhelmed by the narratives against Black men and actually a lot of what it portrayed for Walker wasn’t even true.

Somewhat of a disappointment because it fails to make Walker into the dynamic women she was and falsely portrayed her life with her daughter who actually did have children and was not a lesbian.  Haddish was also miscast in the role she played.

The revisionist history that is taking place with iconic Black figures is intentional and is being used to push agendas through the media.

Feel The Funk / Versus: Predictions/Nominations
« on: May 02, 2020, 01:24:26 pm »
This weeks matchup is Erykah Badu vs Jill Scott

Prediction- Erykah Badu is not only unique, she is uniquely Erykah Badu. What she was able to capture with BADUIZM became a cultural moment. Most people can tell you where they were and what was happening in their life when BADUIZM came out. Jill Scott is a great singer and performer who has a great catalog of songs but she doesn't have a BADUIZM. If this came down to a performance I think Jill Scott wins hands down but for this battle

Winner- Erykah BADU

Nomination- Chaka Khan vs Patti Labelle

Hudlin TV / Re: The Clark Sisters Movie

I didn't think a Lifetime movie could possibly live up to the praise that this movie has been receiving.

I was wrong!

The movie was great and deserves a sequel! They had the ability to focus solely on the music and not their personal lives but they didn't do so. All the frailty and turmoil was put out for all to witness while at the same time not being salacious.

Feel The Funk / Surfaces,"Sunday Best" and Stevie Wonder

I know there isn't an official Stevie Wonder sample for Surfaces "Sunday Best" song but I know it is connected to one of Wonders' hits.

I can't remember which one though!

I know, Reggie, may use this as a chance for vengeance but I could use some help figuring this out! 8)

It is only right for there to be a 30th Anniversary viewing of HOUSE PARTY at BAM with all of the cast members there to celebrate.

I never will forget the day I heard Robin Harris died.

I didn't realize how young he was until now reflecting that I'm older than Harris ever got to be.

The murder is really felt in Brooklyn.
