I agree, but da Firestorm fanboys went after Jason wit gusto and guns blazing. They hated him wit a passion dat was unprecedented, he never stood a chance.  They said it wasn't racially motivated, but to me da level of venom made it seem like it was. Dats just one man's opinion, but check da boards and see for yourself. John prolly wouldn't do any better.

Sunspot is a dark Brazilian. I don't know how accurate it is, but my pick would be Luke Cage.

Other Comics / Re: Why don't Black folks like DC?

If that's da case why do they have more sex, violence and cursing in DC comics? I guess you missed da Teen Titans issue where Wonder Girl lost her virginity to Superboy?

One of da reasons I stopped collecting X-Men was because Wolverine is supposed to be a bad a$$ tough guy but he constantly used convoluted cursing euphenisms like "freakin" and "bub". Who says "bub"? Besides I was going broke with all da titles and crossovers. Da only one I really liked was Inferno. One day I realized I had every issue of New Mutants and had no desire to re-read any of them. Now I only get Daughters Of The Dragon, New Avengers, Young Avengers, Mighty Avengers and of course Black Panther from Marvel.

You're missing a gr8 movie based upon preconceived notions. It's atmospheric and cool. David Banner and Justin Timberlake surpised me with their acting ability. It was a funny, heart warming story about redemption. Sam Jackson put it down.

I don't know man, I kinda like da term. I find da blasphmous aspect of it funny. And any way you slice it those are DC's 3 flagship characters. If not for power or popularity, for name recognition alone.

@ Digital Sword- Yeah dats what I like about DC too, da family aspect. When Marvel does legacy heroes they seem kinda forced. Take Young Avengers for instance? I think it's cause DC has been around so long, they have more history to draw from.

Da other reason I like DC is because they take more risks. Their stuff is edgier...like da uber-violence in da new JSA or Superboy Prime in Infinite Crisis. When Wonder Woman broke Maxwell Lord's neck I was shocked. I'm far from naive but I never saw dat one coming.

Man I know back in da day DC was corny and kinda lame. Yeah we all grew up on X-Men and it was gr8, but still...it's a new day.  Why are most Black folks Marvel Zombies? DC has just as many credible heroes of color, so what's up wit dat?

I liked him JLU but in da comics he's basically written as Jordan's sidekick.

As far as respect goes, he wouldn't get any from da powers dat be at DC. They messed up Wonder Woman's re-launch and she's one of da Trinity.

Feel The Funk / Re: All Time Best Prince Album

Yeah Sign O The Times was good too, but I hated "Cross", "It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night" and "Hot Thing". It was years before I got over dat "we'll call em Nate...if it's a boy" line. It jus seemed mad corny to me. Da songs you mentioned made up for dat though. I like erry song on 1999.

Mane it's 1999, no question. I'm 29 and I've bought dat cd 4 times.  Let me break it down.

You got da up-tempo dance jams...
1999
Little Red Corvette
Delerious
Automatic

You got da funk nasty joints...
Let's Pretend We're Married
D.M.S.R. (I think he was tryin to outshine The Time on this one.)
Lady Cab Driver

Da introspective tracks...
All The Critics Love U In New York
Something In The Water
Free

And you get da titanic, baby making, slow jam...
International Lover (His best along wit "Adore" and "The Scandalous Sex Suite")

It's a perfect double album, witout all da quirks of Sign O The Times.

Other Comics / Re: Firestorm is getting cancelled?
« on: January 23, 2007, 11:03:40 am »
I'm not mad at dat. I stuck with da series as long as possible, I should've quit when Chris Cross left. Jason was boring, his powers were confusing, and he always seemed to be whining instead of winning. They went through all dat flack for making Firestorm Black and it turned out dat was his only good character trait.

Black Panther / Re: Storm's Costume
« on: January 23, 2007, 10:45:48 am »
My favorite Storm looks are da original costume, and an outfit she wore in Uncanny, in 84, during da mohawk era. It was a mini skirt with torn fishnets, it's da issue where she told Kitty she was'nt her mother and was'nt living to please her anymore.

I also like da pink outfit she wore at da beginning of The New Mutants in Asgard story and Loki's Goddess Of Thunder costume. Da dress and heels she was wearing da night she met and saved Forge from da Dire Wraiths was cool too.
