Latest Flicks / Re: Who Will The Rock Play?
« on: July 24, 2014, 12:15:06 pm »
The other thread had this big warning about resurrecting threads that are 120 days or older. :D

Fingers crossed for Captain Marvel.
Previously he was slated for Black Adam.  Which I always thought was an insult.  Who is better than him for Shazam!

Yeah you and I were in agreement on the previous thread. You get more mileage out of him playing the hero.

All I know is we should be on Hancock 3 by now. Its like Will Smith has retired.

Hudlin TV / Re: Star Trek: Captain Worf?

Well maybe this needs to be a Kickstarter. Seems Abrams/Et al don't mind the Of Gods and Men and Renegades movies, which seems to be incontinuity with the TV shows' universe.

So they rebooted the forum, for nothing, since its business as usual. Alrighty then.  ::)

Come on now, that's not what I said, nor what I meant.

That's exactly what you said.

Nope, that's exactly what you inferred.  I stand behind what I actually said.

There was no excuse for what happened after the initial argument.

But that's not all that you actually said. Here's the link
http://hudlinentertainment.com/smf/index.php?topic=12097.msg145150#msg145150
and here's what came after what you just posted:

"I totally agree with what you're saying. There was no excuse for what happened after the initial argument. However, I understand the anger that preceded it. A comicbook forum is analogous with a barbershop because for better or worse, it primarily caters to a mostly male demographic. "

What exactly is there to "understand" about "the anger that preceded it"? Please explain.

Hard Choices / Re: DIE HARD or DIE HARD WITH A VENGANCE?

I still haven't seen Die Hard 3 in its entirety. Just the endings (original and deleted).  :o

Supposedly Die Hard 6 will reunite McClane with Jackson's Die Hard 3 character in Japan, so I might have to make it a point to check it out part 3 some time.

Hodge just looks like an unmasked T'Challa.

Oysters all day everyday.

Okra...I can only eat them when they're mixed with other vegetables, like in a stew or something.

Honestly I wouldn't have picked Clarmont period l'm also not a fan of OVERPOWERED heroes (one reason I don't love Superman comics). So we'll see. I'm moderately optimistic.

I don't think there is anything wrong with Storm being written that powerfully at all. Just make sure the villains are powerful enough to pose a realistic threat to her. Would you agree with that?

You think she is powerful enough to beat Doomsday,  more powerful than Magneto,  TPG should view her as an equal,  and so on.   You think she is more powerful than anyone and if he writes anyone as being a challenge or superior,  you are going to write a five page article explaining why the writer is wrong and Storm should have taken down the villain effortlessly.

Storm, no. Rogue Storm, however...isn't she supposed to be equivalent to freakin' Dark Phoenix? However that doesn't seem the be the Storm that Pak is writing about.

I love how people who don't care, care enough to tell you they don't care.  :o

Interesting stuff. But Maxine is pretty much spot on. Genki and I were talking about his and another situation before this went down on how they treat certain members, yet when Hudlin was writing the Panther and Panther was married to story, there were a lot of nasty post and attacks (personal) made toward Mr. Hudlin and black posters in general. So the fact that it's now being dealt with is good, but also sad because it took that to make it stop where there has been stuff just as bad, blatant and common place that never got any attention?

For example, I know for a fact that Black Panther fans are targeted and watched like we are on some terrorist list, while racist can make post using subtext being racist and they allow it?

Money Spider, I saw that. :smh:

A certain member was banned for saying a white writer who wrote panther was racist, yet...I don't remember anyone getting banned over the racist crap they said about Mr. Hudlin. Ever. In fact a lot of the time mods would show up to tell the people defending Mr. Hudlin to calm down. WTF.

I like Pak just fine (loved his work on the Hulk), but I just don't trust Marvel when it comes to Storm. Conflicted!
