Black Panther / Re: BP vs Killmonger

What up SI!  I picked the book up in a back issue bin after I got the "Head's up" from Catch 22's post.  If you can't find
it at your local LCS maybe they can run a search on it for you?

Good luck,

Mont

Kudos and utmost respect to RH.  I am not a zombie fan and did not
expect to buy let alone like the zombie issues but a funny thing
happened while I was at the LCS...I really liked it!

If anyone ever doubted how engulfed Reg is into BP folklore......
recognize that he's toying with the idea of King Solomon's Frogs
being sentient beings who are playing possum.  That just tripped
me out!   :D

SI, I don't post often and lost my rank during the HEF re-launch but I remember that you also wanted this resolution.  The book was published in 1996 so to me it's like some unearthed treasure.  Though DD got the majority of the cover it's really much more a BP story than a DD story.

Sorry, don't know how to insert the picture but the first link should get you there.

Black Panther / BP vs Killmonger

Mad Props to Catch 22.  In the link provided under Panther Sightings I found a book from the late 90's called "Over the Edge."  Issue #6 has a story teaming BP and DD where BP squares off against Killmonger and...SPOILERS.....Pick it up if you can before going any further unless you want to be spoiled.

BP lays a smackdown on Killmonger, definitively defeating him in combat.  It's hard to imagine that Priest was not aware of this issue when stating that BP had never defeated Killmonger.  Perhaps he ignored it.  However it was the real Killmonger, unlike the referenced doppleganger from Iron Man Annual #5.

Black Panther / Re: Who Created Vibraxas?

I was just looking at my FForce copies recently and Tom Breevort was identified as writer/co-writer on the series initially.  I would think that he was the
one who created Vibraxas.

Big Sal & Bob fan!

Jim Lee

Who's the guy who did the French TPB cover that was included in
Secret War #1.  His painted style was awesome!

Liking Michael Turner's take also!

Black Panther / Panther's Past

Hello all!  It's been a while and I just realized that my "Hero Member" status didn't roll over so I'm a "newbie"
again!

Anyway, I wanted to draw your attention to an issue of Jungle Action (#11) from Don McGregor's run.  I just
picked it up from a back issue bin at one of my LCS's.  This was by far the best issue of JA that I've read/seen.
Beautifully written and illustrated and featuring T'Challa leading a raid on N'Jadaka territory and laying the smack-
down on Baron Macabre.  I always appreciated McGregor's work with BP but like many here, haven't particularly
cared for the long sufferring, frequently battered depiction of BP.  I'm still looking to complete "Panther's Rage"
but so far, this was the best of them all.  if you don't have it, run don't walk to your LCS and pick up JA #11.

Peace,

Mont
