Hondurans continue to protest military coup!

Must our nation always stick it's nose into the affairs of others?  What difference does it make what happens in Iran or Honduras? Neither nation is a threat to us.  We should worry about North Korea, they have nukes that could cause us problems.  Obama is to the right of me in a political sense.  I think that it is positive that Obama isn't letting his foreign policy be defined by Cold War politics or alarmism.  When Bush was appointed president by the Supreme Court many thousands of Americans protested in the streets.  Had Iran or any other nation tried to stoke the fires of dissent Americans would have been enraged.  If Obama has it twisted then it's because he isn't remaining neutral.

General Discussion / Re: MARIJUANA: Should it be legalized?
« on: April 07, 2009, 05:38:54 pm »
Yes it should be legalized.  Obama said he doesn't think it is a good economic policy not that he opposes the legalization.  It is a good economic policy California needs the money the illicit trade brings in billions of dollars.  Free Corey Blunt!

Vox Populi / Re: Al Qaeda to Obama: "You're no Malcolm X"
« on: December 08, 2008, 06:22:57 pm »
Yes, Obama is no Malcolm X, nobody is not Barack not Farrakhan and not Sharpton or Jackson. Obama is a center left politician and Malcolm was a Muslim minister very different by design.  It is a little ironic to have Arab Musilm's calling Obama a house nigga as if it was up to them to determine.  Only the field niggas can decide who's a house nigga.  Malcolm X was a Muslim ex convict he never could have been president but straight laced Obama could.  Al Qaeda is just upset that Obama supports Israel and the government of Saudi Arabia.  They would hate any American president equally.

In The News / Re: Africa Speaks to You.
« on: November 04, 2008, 02:01:45 pm »
I'm glad that the crisis in the Congo is getting wider attention.  4 million people have died while most of the media focused on Darfur.

I think we should:
Bring stability to Somalia why you broke it you fix it rule
Liberia we made it.
Sudan it's genocide stupid or maybe fratricide?
Congo because we assasinated Lumumba and propped up Mobutu all those years
and West Africa for her connection to African Americans.

Feel The Funk / Re: prescient words

I've been playing this one for months Marvin's the man.

Talkin', talkin' to the people
Tryin' to get them to go your way
Tellin' lies, not to worry
That we won't be led astray
So blind, unsignified
Your opponents always lying
Think about the mistakes you make
I believe America's at stake
You know, busin', busin' is the issue
If you have a plan wager
If you have a plan
If you've got a master plan
Got to vote for you
Hey hey, got to vote for you
You're the man
We don't wanna hear no more lies
About how you planned a compromise
We want our dollar value increased
Employment to rise
The nation's taxation
Is causin' all, all this inflation
Don't give us no V sign
Turn around and rob the people blind
Economics is the issue
Do you have a plan wager?
'Cause if you've got a master plan
Got to vote for you
You're the man

Don't you understand?
There's misery in the land

People marching on Washington
Better hear what they have to say
'Cause the tables just might
turn against you, brother
Set around Election Day
Politics and hypocrites
Is turning us all into lunatics
Can you take the guns from our sons?
Right all the wrongs this
administration has done?
Peace and freedom is the issue
Do you have a plan wager?
If you've got a plan
If you've got a master plan
Got to vote for you
Hey hey, got to vote for you
'Cause you're the man
(repeat and fade):
Got to vote for you

Feel The Funk / Re: Was this really necessary by Musiq?
« on: November 04, 2008, 01:17:20 pm »
Big Musiq fan not really feeling this track, but at least he doesn't need that sound module to sing like T-Pain.  I may be reaching here but this is that ATL sound that the kids seem to love.

But yeah it sucks bad.

Vox Populi / Re: Election Day Stories
« on: November 04, 2008, 12:55:21 pm »
I voted in Nowalk the second week of early voting so I could go help out In Nevada.  So today I rolled around LA looking at the lines.  In South LA Crenshaw USC area the turnout was incredible. I know it was LA but it could have easily been Wakanda.  Closer to the campus our Latino brothers and sisters were out in full force and on La Brea near Wilshire the line at this church was out the door!

I don't have words to explain how I feel!
Oh and I got to see the man live in Henderson Nevada and the Rainbow Coalition that was in the house would have made Jesse Jackson green with envy. There were a lot of people I would have assumed were rednecks, cowboys, good ole boys etc that were supporting Barack!
Peace
Ray Ray

Sure there are good white folk that will vote for Mc Cain over Obama. There are about 1 million non racist whites in the US and some of them are Republicans.

Vox Populi / Re: Thoughts on Jesse Jackson's most recent faux pas?
« on: July 13, 2008, 11:12:02 am »
I just want him to tell the truth and not avoid are issues like the plague.   Sure Jesse Al et al. have been ineffective but they were just the brothers in Kings organization.  B lists activists in the wake of the asassinations of Martin, Malcolm and Medgar.  Every last gain that blacks have gotten since the war of 1812 has been the result of struggle and bloodshed. Emancipation, 13,14 and 15th Amendments, Voting Rights bills, the end to Jim Crow and desegregation were all obtained the hard way.

If Barack is to be the president of the usa then he is the president of all people including the black folks.
Comparing Obama's dedication or lack thereof to black causes to Guiliani's support of Italian Americans is comparing support of a race to an ethnicity. You could compare Kenyans and Italians or blacks and whites but not Italians and blacks.

Exactly what have African Americans gained by distorting the facts or running from the issues?
Denying racism, discrimination, and prejudice will get us just as far Sharpton or Jackson. Not very far.
I hope Lion is right and I'm wrong as I said I will still be voting for Obama but Katrina was about race Jena 6 was wrong and our issue are important to more than just us as you can see that affirmative action has benefited white women the most.  Black or African American issue are American issues and must be addressed by any non racist American president!

I would like to appreciate the Hip Hop Artists who made the greatest comebacks:
JZ from Muslim JZ to Drug Dealer MC to CEO JZ
Kool Keith from Ultra Mag to his solo success
Zev Love X from KMD to MF Doom

These three brothers went from obscurity to wild success

On another note I heard DJ Scratch will not be on the EPMD tour or album because E would lnot pay him an equal share. And the Erick and Parish still hate each other.
