Black Panther / Re: BP relaunch info.

how do u look.

I think my real concern is the scope of the story.  Trying to establish Shuri as the new BP while also keeping tabs on T'Challa might be a little too much to handle without T'Challa having his own book.  I just feel that origin stories shouldn't branch out so soon, or at least not on such a level like this.

Everybody seems to be forgetting our very own N'Jadaka, who has held his own repeatedly against BP and fought against Deadpool, etc.  I think he definitely needs to be ranked up there.  And a little off topic, does anyone want to see him and BP team up, legitimately? (we know he'll be back  ;))

I dunno guys...Wolverine claws? Experimented on? Weak-sauce.  Maybe literal claws would have been a better choice so he doesn't constantly compared to Wolverine, which we know will happen.  And maybe he's just really light skinned?; in some of the images it looks like he has more AA features than others.

Black Panther / Re: Achebe's Return

We could just ignore Achebe's previous attacks and start fresh.  I just watched a video in my Western Africa class about traditional mask dances.  I thought it would be cool to incorporate some of these characters (possessed or otherwise) into the BP mythos.  Achebe could be the leader of them and attack Wakanda.  You can find a link of the types of dances I'm talking about at  People would make these huge masks and costumes as a way to mimic spirits for good luck with crops or to ward evil.

Now that we're getting a relaunch would you want Achebe to come back as a villain/arch-enemy?  He's a very interesting character to read and still has a lot left to explore, but does he run the risk of being too Joker-like?  Thoughts?

So you don't think that they are on par? I do... and I would have BP out of action...with Storm leading Wakanda... 8)

Perfect way to *make* people buy the book... and make her mark as Queen of Wakanda.

which issue was it that T'Challa said something like half the world would be destroyed if there was a conflict between the two?

So then you've had an epiphany. Good.

Jeezus, man. Was that really necessary?

I might take elements from this i.e. eyes, claws, teeth, but i think we might get caught every issue with "now it's time to transform."

Black Panther / Re: Black Panther in Ultimates 3 (with a Joe Mad drawn BP!)

Kind of riding blkyoda's coattails on the ultimate ideas, but this is one (short one) I thought of several months ago that depicts T'Challa as a villain:

What Ult. BP was Isiah Bradley, with a close origin to Red, White, and Black, but after he was used up and the formula was given to Steve Rogers to create the first "all-American" super-soldier, T'Chaka bought him (the group that makes the serum is "evil" and puts their projects on on a black market bid) and uses him as a personal guard and pawn in the super-human community?

T'Challa gets jealous of T'Chaka's (love, respect, etc.} for Black Panther and becomes the Ult. Klaw, killing T'Chaka--Wakanda Wars--and becomes the ruler of Wakanda, but in a Doom-style position.

Jealous thing is supposed to be like Hunter from Priest, Ult. version, Hunter would just be an advisor; Kasper Cole could be T'Challa's accomplice. Maybe the super-soldier serum could prolong life, so Isiah isn't aged that much, meaning T'Challa's grandfather could have bought him, creating a "legacy" of the Black Panther, while keeping him the same person throughout time, like biting off of Bucky from 616 (but not biting).

Black Panther / Re: Black Panther - New suit or not
« on: September 25, 2008, 10:13:02 pm »
I think the suit reflects the mission statement of the book; i.e. this serious seemed more adventure based and his costume reflected that, while Priest-era was more regal, matching the stories were told, so I guess it also depends on what kind of stories you would want told.  But I do like Palo's version-a mix between the two and very dark, mysterious.

...they sent the ship back home...with the Commander sending a lie to his wife that the won the war...and with all the skrull dead, with there blood saying don't f with wakanda.

I got the impression that the note was made beforehand, in the PDA he was (crawling?) to.

The guy groups all his ships together and flies in nice like and allows entire force to be hit with a single blast.  Any comptent leader would spread out his resources, attacking from multiple directions and waves.

Didn't W'Kabi say that everything in a five mile radius was down? Seems like that would have covered any spread of Skrull ship.  Also, in terms of various tech working, one of the Skrulls said something about most/majority of their armaments were destroyed, not necessarily all of them (issue 39, don't have in front of me).

Could we get an Ultimate Prowler? An Ultimate Night Trasher? Ultimate Nightwatch? Ultimate Sync, and let them LIVE?

Man, you totally read my mind.  I've been praying for the return of Nightwatch for so long it's not even funny.  I even wrote into Ult. Spider-Man when it came out to bring my boy in.  I mean, come on, an intelligent black man with a bad-ass cape and an almost all-black cast?  It was so great and ended waaayyy too early.  Nightwatch is the the missing piece to T'Challa's U.S. team.
