In The News / Re: The George Zimmerman trial thread

If Zimmerman gets acquitted, we need to do what we did when Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam got acquitted for killing Emmett Till.

We need to do what we did when the Teels got acquitted for killing "Dickie" Marrow.

We need to boycott.

Boycott what? Boycott the state of Florida.

We spend our tourism dollars elsewhere. Myrtle Beach, Williamsburg, Washington DC.

Anywhere but Florida.

I've been doing that

I respect this man

Since i am not a woman filmmaker i don't know if the struggle is harder then it is for men, i can only imagine that the best way for a woman filmmaker to get a job in the industry is the same way a man filmmaker has to: show the industry you can make them money and they will hire you. It's all about your independent films and if they are good.

Writing / Re: I Will Not Read Your f*cking Script
« on: May 28, 2013, 06:46:46 pm »

Any of us who choose to read the work of someone else for something other than pleasure should do so ONLY when it's our choice and when it's not getting in the way of actual work

This is what I mean about giving back though, yeah it should be your choice, and giving back doesnt always mean reading scripts, there are other ways to help someone even if it's as simple as giving advice like "oh you want to be writer, then write". You become a writer, you work, you enjoy success. It's your choice if you want to help others and if you can, you should. It doesn't mean being forced to read scripts, eff that, but it also doesn't mean you have to be completely stand off cold about it. When i'm asked to watch a new filmmakers first project or something, and i know it's not going to be good, i still think about it. Some people are not looking for shortcuts, just advice to grow from someone who's opinion they respect.

Thanks it's good to be aboard after so long. I don't know, I really like J.M.S's run on Thor but this book is definitely the best out there right now.

why do you care what wigs they use if you already dont like the movie?

Jim Starlin had to pay for a ticket to see "The Avengers"??

Quick question:
Were comic creators ever granted complimentary tickets to see thier stuff on the big screen in the past?

Well i know Bendis and other current creators were invited to the premiere

Makes sense but it's important to give back in life. If no one ever wanted to read his scripts then he would be no where. If you read something and it's that bad then tell the person. If they want it bad enough they'll continue to work harder at being a writer.

That was very informative and inspiring!

Carry on...

It's 3,152 Comic-Con fans in San Diego.

Is anybody reading this current arc? It's probably the best book of the Marvel Now launch. I highly recommend it!
