Hard Choices / Windows XP or Vista?
« on: June 30, 2008, 06:16:52 pm »
Ok ok. Might not be hard at all. But vista sucks all kind of ass and has for a while. Am I dumb for hanging on to vista to my main machine or should I go to the clunky vista? I have vista on my lap top and it looks like a superficial whore just like I have head about. So how many of you have Vista and prefer it over xp?

General Discussion / I quit my job today.
« on: April 01, 2008, 01:38:00 pm »
I called it quits with the company I have worked for the past 11 years. This has been brewing for a few years but delayed with a change in positions 17 months ago. The new position was a shiny new toy that the luster quickly wore off off once I saw how limited I was with the company. In a little over two weeks I will join the ranks of the unemployed. Don't worry about your boy though I have a big enough severance that I won't have to work until 2009. :)

My goal is to start my own consulting business and turn all of this experience I have managing others and working with troubled youth to something that works for me and will continue allowing be to do my part in bettering humanity. Some times you have to have motivation to make you step out on faith like this. Last week I built my own platform bed after marveling at some I saw on a few web sites. I do stuff like that all the time. When I set my mind off to do something I surprise my self at how I am able to achieve that goal. Well if things don't work out there is always work at the post office. :)

Thanks for letting me share with yall fellow heffas.

Hey guys nothing like a good sophomoric laugh like prank call jokes. Got this from my friends over at deadspin.com. Here is a link to a hacked prank call to the big east basketball coaches weekly telephone conference with the media.  lMAOF at the nerdy moderator of the press meeting. Not safe for work about pg13 or so

Holy sH&#t have yall seen what is going on with e posters and the BND/OMD storyline. All of the uproar is kind of funny to me. I don't read spiderman but if I did, I could hardly call the new story line a deal breaker. Is it lame probably but the fanboys are irate over this one. I haven't read much over here on the spider marriage debate, just thought I would bring it up and see what yall heffas thought.

Black Panther / Way back when...good read.
« on: December 09, 2007, 09:33:28 am »
After googling for marvel comics black panther I found a lot of interesting things including an online petition with about 700 signatures to save the black panther book by priest. But anouther gem was the original solicit for the book and a description of the goalks of the series including a statement by Joe Q that stated by the end of the second arc bp would have impacted on virtualy every character in the marvel u and a goal to bring the bp to the prominance of spiderman.

Sports Talk / The "other" part of football sundays
« on: October 19, 2007, 10:52:08 am »
Hey guys. A sports blog I go to all the time and I really recommend it deadspin.com . It's funny and brutal at the same time offering insites into sports and more so sports media that goes beyound espn and the local paper. Any way a blogger posted this story on a road trip he went on to new york but the part Im highliting is a bit on how the writer describes his, mine and probably a lot of yours' football sunday. :D . I spit my beer when I read it.

SUNDAY

I woke up Sunday morning with a headache. I was also short of breath and had
some tightness in my chest. My shoulders hurt when I inhaled. I may have had a
mild heart attack. I'm not sure.

And that, good friends, is where the NFL comes into play. Yes, we all enjoy the
ideal Sunday scenario of living it up with friends at the bar or enjoying a
kickass tailgate party, etcetera, etcetera. But, just as often, we spend our
Sundays curled up under a blanket, waiting for God's unmerciful vengeance to
eventually subside. No, the NFL won't cure your hangover. But it will nurture
you through that hangover, and give you a nice, 10-hour diversion from your
quiet suffering.

That's the side of the NFL fan you often don't see. And, if you had seen me on
Sunday morning, you would understand wholeheartedly why you don't see it.

This was a great movie on so many levels. The overall go see factor for this movie is the sustained action. I haven't seen so much good gun play since Heat. Go see it.

BET Life / The 2007 BET Music Awards
« on: June 25, 2007, 09:14:35 am »
Sounds like it is going to be big this year. I wonder if any surprises are in order this year? The life time award is going to Diana Ross, but with her non support of Dream Girls I wonder if there will be any tension as black hollywood hottest folks were involved in the movie. Also with 50 cent in the promos is he going to perform this year? There is always drama with a 50 showing. Where is it held this year?

Other Comics / The New Warriors Thread
« on: June 04, 2007, 04:06:04 pm »
This thread is set up in anticipation of the new upcoming New Warriors Series. Since we are in support of black talent at Marvel I thought it would be cool to sticky this thread much like McDuffie's F/f thread. Like that thread feel free to post specific subjects in your own thread but for general discussion use this one.

Hear from yall on Wednesday/Thursday. :)
