Black Panther / Re: Why Is The World Tour Ending So Soon???

Oh Snap!  BP is kickin Iron Ass!!  ;D

This scene kind of reminds of me EOTS II storyline in the last volume of Black Panther

Has BET got any track record in publishing? Have there ever been any BET magazines or anything like that? If so, all Milestone need is a distribution deal, like the one they had with DC, and this could be a working idea.

Yep. For a time they published a series of romance novels called Arabesque books. They also published Emerge Magazine, Young, Sisters & Brothers, etc

General Discussion / Re: Black Africans Are Racists
« on: August 22, 2006, 12:47:12 am »
I say Black Africans are oblivious to the problems and struggles that Black Americans face, but I wouldn't call them racist. Narrow-minded, yes. Racist, no.

That sucks that Werewolf By Night's rights are tied up. He would make a cool guest star on Blade. Maybe they can use his sister Vampire By Night. Vampire By Night is part werewolf and part vampire. Now as for other guest stars they should use Sons of The Tiger or White Tiger on an episode or two.

Werewolf By Night, Shroud, The Hood.

I would like to see BP's rogues such as Baron Macabre, Karnaj, Princess Zanda and other foes from the McGregor/Priest run form a team with the purpose of destorying Black Panther, Storm and taking over Wakanda.

Someone else suggested awhile back that the Hellfire Club would make great villians in this book. I wouldn't mind seeing a Hellfire Club Johanesburg branch.

As for Heroes, I would like to see Vibraxas, a revamped version of The Black Musketeers from the Kirby run and maybe a hero from Nubia.

so, have we mentioned EVERYONE person who was at the wedding?

is it safe to say some attendees were off panel?  I mean Ka Zar and Shanna HAD to be there, right?

Because? What adventures did they share?

Someone mentioned that they shared an adventure in the pages of Captain America. Also, Shanna was part of BP's harem in the House of M reality. I think they met in the pages of Jungle Action.

Hudlin TV / Re: the girl that sh*tted on herself on Flav's show
« on: August 14, 2006, 10:16:58 am »
I find it funny that black leaders can come out against an episode of "Where's The Dogs At?" but are silent on this embrassing episode of "Flavor of Love". I wonder if this was Flav idea to keep her on the show or the producers? How much say does Flav have on his show? At any rate, a new low for Flav. I like the man's music, but I'm not thrilled with his career path even though he is a grown man.

Other Comics / Re: Black Sexism in Comics
« on: August 11, 2006, 12:57:12 pm »
What an odd, crazy thread.  The attacks on Milestone by Skywatch are just...hateration, but then it turns into two other threads.  One on sexism, the other on the use of the word "nigger" as part of the broader debate over black images.  Nothing particularly original, just the usual debate over whether showing our full humanity (i.e. flaws) hurts us a people.

Is the Skywatch fellow the same person who attacks Milestone for making fun of Luke Cage?  So he attacks the black company for lampooning the blaxsploitation character created by the white company?

I remember Skywatch from the Black Voices message boards years ago. He's all ego and no substance.

Other Comics / Re: CW and Beta Ray Bill

Seeing as Thor is on the pro-side, I wouldn't mind seeing Beta Ray Bill on the con-side. It's ben awhile since I seen a Beta Ray Bill vs Thor fight.

Other Comics / Re: tv spots advertising comics?
« on: August 11, 2006, 12:31:33 pm »
would you all be opposed to obvious product placement in teh story of comics. i think it could actually help some fring books. with the black panther being the only book with a black lead it would probably get a lot of adds targeting the black community. wouldnt more ad revenue for a book mean less cost to produce a book. or will those cost benefit marvel and not us the consumers?

we have had this in movies for years.

Marvel and DC use to do that back in the day, but it's rare nowadays to see an ad for a TV show in a comic book. Those days are gone.

Latest Flicks / Re: Angelina Jolie to portray biracial woman
« on: August 11, 2006, 12:27:40 pm »
You mean they couldn't get Jennifer Beals, Halle Berry, or Vanessa Williams?!

Point taken regarding the use of the word Spear Chucking but again if they are capable of utilizing Alien Technology to power weapons why wouldn't they have laser weapons? they have a smelting facility turning Vibranium into a variety of munitions but they use Catapults? cmon Sin you  have to admit that was ridiculous

In one scene, the Wakandans utilized laser cannons to deal with the alien invaders, so their weaponry isn't totally primitive. Given that this story takes place in the ultimate universe, I'm thinking that in time Wakanda's weapons and security measures and miltary will be revamped.

Black Panther / Re: The Wakandan Embassy
« on: August 09, 2006, 02:48:03 pm »
Welcome to the Wakandan Embassy, friend.  My name is Mastrmynd and by order of my liege, King T'Challa of Wakanda, an Embassy has been set up in the HEF in order to keep a record of all actions and references that are related to Wakanda with the Marvelverse.  And since the people of the HEF are revered for their intelligence and loyalty to T'Challa, what better place to set up shop.
The Wakandan Embassy will only focus on Wakandan affairs mentioned in printed forms NOT LABELED "The Black Panther."
My first entry comes from the first issue of Uncanny X-men's current "Shi'ar" storyline written by Brubaker.  In it, the Native American mutant known as Warpath has received 2 vibranium hunting/throwing knives from his friend Ororo, who has recently become Wakanda's Queen.
There you have it my friend.  IF there are any mentions of anything Wakanda-related within the Marvelverse (outside of the pages of the Black Panther comic), then those incidents will be listed here.
Please feel free to mention Wakandan news here, too!  While in the Embassy, please make yourself at home because you're family as long as you're here.
If you'll excuse me, I must take an urgent phonecall.  Someone is claiming that a Wakandan citizen is an Agent of Atlas...whatever THAT means.
Please, BET J.  I hear that Monica Lynn has a 1hr special that is about to come on.  TiVo it for me, okay?  (just in case this phonecalltakes longer than expected)

You know there use to be a website for a time called "The Wakandan Embassy." It was basically about all things BP-related but unforunately, it's gone. For a minute, I thought you were bringing it back.

Black Panther / Re: New Avengers 22

Y'all think McDuffie could write this mini?
And I wonder if Tyler Perry ever considered writing a comic book.
He writes women so well...well, women with issues.  He writes those women well.

I can see it now. Diary of A Mad Black Superhero.
