Other Comics / Re: tv spots advertising comics?

I remember the old Superman show from the fifties use to advertise Superman's comic at the end of their shows. When JLU was on Cartoon Network, they should've plugged their books.

from the Wizard Chicago Con, on, there's supposed to be a possible Luke mini (focusing on Luke as a dad) or ongoing brewing for next year..

That's cool. I wonder who will be writing it? I think Reva would be a cool name for Luke's daugther.

Second Verse Same As The First(with a slight change)

A While Back Wizard Magazine came out with a poll of possible new members for the Fantastic Four the choices where

Human Galactus and Silver Surfer
Luke Cage and Jessica Jones
Black Panther and Storm
She-Hulk and Hawkeye(Clint Barton)

No with two of those choices scrathed out it seems even more likely that BP and Storm could possibly join the FF. So once again I ask do you think that BP and Storm will join the FF?

Y'know....if push came to shove, I don't think an F4 team comprised of Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones would be the worst that could happen.

Luke Cage joining the FF? Been there, done that. I would like to see another hero you would never suspect joining their ranks. It would be cool if it was Brother Voodoo or Bill Foster aka Goliath III, but Cage was already a member long time ago.

Anybody read the latest issue of the Fantastic Four?

Ben quit the 4,  said screw you to both sides  and said he was leaving the country.  Could it be he is moving to Wakanda?

He said something to  the avail of i don't believe in registration, and i am not goign against my government, so i am going to leave, so don't expect me back.

This leads me to believe he is either going to canada, or going to the Wakanda

So Ben is leaving the FF again. I wonder how long this will last? Maybe Thor will replace him.

It sucks that the Barksdale crew is done. I really loved the Barksdale Crew storyline on The Wire. At least Boadie and Slim Charles are still around.

I thought SHIELD agent Gabriel Jones was Black.  I believe he served with Fury in WW2.

I thought Gabriel Jones retired. Yep. Gabe served with Fury in WW2. Their unit was one of the first to be intergrated in WWII.

Keep in mind, when BP was gone for long periods of time from Wakanda he would have surrogates watch over his country in his absence. Which is how others would wind up taking control of the kingdom like Man Ape, Achebe, etc.

well since we all have been on the board for diffrent times now i will tell you as much as i can gather about the first arc. reg wrote the first arc either before priest panther was cancelled, shortly after it was cancelled. he talked to some folks at marvel. he said he wanted to do something with them. they said what. he said panther. they said cool. he showed them his treatment. they said they liked it. they started it as a limited series. at some point before the issues came out, or shortly afterwards they decided to make it an ongoing. so if reggie knew when he wrote the treatment that he was going to be writing the black panther for marvel as he is now he probably would have approached things a little diffrent or maybe not. really i think who is the black panther stands fine as it is. it does a great job of introducing the new black panther/comic fan to who this character and wakanda is. i hope this helps a few of you who on issue 18 still have issue with issue 1.

I'm aware of that as well. Reg stated in the past that he wrote the book for new readers in mind which is why in the beginning there weren't too many cross references to old issues and other titles, and there were situations where Cage acted as though he never met Shang Chi. Also, I read an interview where Reg didn't entirely rule out featuring the supporting players like QDJ, White Wolf or Kasper in the near future. I think Reggie's past quote summed it up the best. "Only a few would repeat the same mistakes. Hoping for a different result." I happen to like both Priest and Hudlin and I'm glad Marvel is making an effort to put BP in the foreground in the Marvel Universe. Hey it beats having him be in the back row of the class picture to quote Priest or having BP get his ass handed to him.

Does Cage's daughter have a name? I keep looking at issues featuring Cage and Jessica to see what her name is but no such luck.

No, she isn't named.

That sucks.

i looked at it from every single angle and outside of josh loeb who the fanboys made a millionaire (how ironic)

And everyone pretty much knows my take on the title.  For me, it was all about continuity.  It was driving me crazy!  Was this a reboot?  No --- couldn't be; too much exists to prove it's not.  Was issue 1-6 a Year One story?  That's what we were led to believe, but then subsequent issues made it appear that issues 1 thru 6 didn't happen too far in the past.  The whole "was he or wasn't he an Avenger?" question still gets to me, because there's evidence to support both sides.  I could go on.  Anyway, I decided that in order to enjoy one of my favorite character's comic book, that I had to get over it.  And I did.  Mind you, I still find things in almost every issue that contradicts other things, but I just ignore them and try to enjoy the story.  And you know what?  I am enjoying it.

I could care LESS about any political overtones in the book.  It's a fiction comic book!!!  It shouldn't influence anyone's real world opinions, nor should anyone get riled up about the politics in the book.  It's silly.

but that's just me.....

I remember when I read the first arc I thought it was a post House of M issue which is why BP's origin and some of his background was out of whack. Then when it became clear that this is a reboot I decided to not think about the changes as much and enjoy the book on its own merits. As for timeline, I think the time is clear on this as of late. Here are my theories as far as timeline.

1. In the "Two The Hard Way" story arc, Cage was narrating the first half of the story. Therefore its possible that when Cage was telling the story in his haste he skipped over a few things such as when the events occurred and so forth.

2. Who is The Black Panther was told in flashback and again doesn't indicate when the invasion happened

3. Sometime after "Who is The Black Panther" Klaw was resurrected off-panel and once again is a thorn in T'Challa's side.

4. Situations such as conflicts and wars last for years. The rebuilding of countries and alliances are even longer. Hence the reason why Niganda is still in strife.

I can't think of anything else but those are just my theories. I'm sure at some point in the futre the editor of this book will get around to rstablishing  a defintive timeline. Patience is a virtue.

I'm surprised Wolverine doesn't know Isaiah Bradley. Then again with his memories returning, you never know.

...Does BET still have Comicview?

Should we? How do people feel about that show?

It was funny when Cedric The Entertainer and Laura The Cook was on the show. After they left, the whole program jumped the shark. I did enjoy the season when D.L. Hughley hosted the show.

I thought I would see Stan Lee at the wedding. I knew BET was going to be there. That was a no brainer. It would've been cool if Matt Murdoch was there but he was probably in jail at the time of this story arc. Lastly, no Ka-Zar The Savage or Shanna The She Devil? DAAAM!!
