Black Panther / Re: bet 2009 upfronts: no black panther mention
« on: May 03, 2009, 02:26:22 pm »
There's no reference to American Gangster. That's one of the only shows I watched on BET.

It could never work. Namor is one of the most arrogant and intemperate rulers there is and eventually there would be a clash between him and the Panther that would probably escalate into an all out war.

I could see some perceived slight on the part of T'Challa towards Namor that would incite him to declare war on Wakanda.

It wouldn't be the first time Namor and T'Challa butt heads. I have the issue of The Defenders where Namor and T'Challa came close to war.

BET Life / American Gangster Season Three
« on: October 14, 2008, 11:40:23 am »
I seen the previews for the new season of American Gangster and I was surprised yet again that the following individuals aren't profiled.

Maserati Rick and Best Friends Inc.
Young Boys
Frank "Pee Wee" Matthews
Bumpy Johnson
Harry-O

While I'm intrigued by the episode on Mac Dre, The Shower Posse and Monster Kody, the episode centered around J. Edgar Hoover doesn't make any sense. How is J. Edgar Hoover a gangster? If anything, he's a corrupt official.

BET Life / Are there any plans for tribute to Bernie Mac or Isaac Hayes?
« on: August 14, 2008, 02:28:12 pm »
Other than thirty second drops, are there any plans for special in memory of Isaac Hayes or Bernie Mac? I wouldn't mind seeing "Truck Turner" air on Blackbuster Movie and "The Players Club".

BET Life / Freestyle Friday Finale on 106 & Park
« on: June 11, 2008, 02:13:01 pm »
I watched Freestyle Friday Finale last Friday and I was very disappointed. The segment didn't quite measure up to past Freestyle Fridays that were more exciting and memorable. I know the format was altered because things were getting out of hand language wise, not to mention a physical altercation between two contestants but when the format was changed the result was a bargain basement version of American Idol. Come on now! Rap for the most part has always been a competitive artform and it disappoints me BET diluted Freestyle Friday. It's like Kool Aid without sugar. Still colorful, but no flavor.

Normally I don't give TV idea suggestions on message boards, but I"m going to make an exception. Return the orginal format of Freestyle Friday, but have it take place in a ring with the competition going three rounds. Put a referee in the fray to maintain order and let the participant know that if they break the rules, they'll shut off the contestant's mic.

I can't think of any other ideas at the present but I'll come back and post as I think of them.

Black Panther / Re: Black Panther #36 (April)

After reading this story, I'm wondering if Killmonger's a Skrull or he has Skrull-backing. You know, we give you your own land mass in exchange for helping us takeover the world.

Were there any plans for Daredevil to appear in Black Panther? I've always enjoyed their teamups and the friendship between Matt Murdock and T'Challa.

In the last volume of Black Panther, Ross was holding a Skrull Contingency plan book. I guess we'll finally get to see that put into action.

Black Panther / Re: Wakanda and The Savage Land

I hope at some point we get to see a Savage Land storyline in the pages of Black Panther. I would like to see how Black Panther would fare against the Savage Land Mutates.

Black Panther / Re: Reverend Achebe was not a compelling villain
« on: April 23, 2008, 06:12:22 pm »
I would like to see Achebe return. This time he could have a new supernatural sponsor seeing as Mephisto made a pact with Black Panther that he would never show in his presence again. Hmmmm? O'm thinking I would like to see Achebe being backed by Belasco or Blackheart (Mephisto's son).

Hudlin TV / Re: BET announces Black Panther Animated series.
« on: April 23, 2008, 06:05:47 pm »
It's about time Black Panther got his own series. The last I seen him in animation was when he guest starred on the previous Fantastic Four Cartoon. Speaking of which, I hope BET can get Keith David to do T'Challa's voice.

I was looking forward to Judge Mooney. What happened? I'm a big Paul Mooney fan.

I could see Ving Rhames or Ice Cube as B.A.

As for the other parts.......

George Clooney would make a good Hannibal Smith
Adam Sandler or Jim Carrey as H.M. Murdock
Face.... Now that's a tough one.

Black Panther / Re: PANTHER IN 08

I would like to see Black Panther's Rogues Gallery get a much needed revamp similar to Flash's foes over at D.C. First off, I would make Klaw a true master of sound and have him do extraordinary feats with his powers. I picture Klaw as a cross between Sinestro and Reverse Flash. Another story I would like to see is one involving the African Gods. I would like to see the Panther God's backstory fleshed out more.
