Black Panther / Re: Black Panther Annual #1 SPOILERS
« on: March 02, 2018, 05:05:37 am »

Special thanks to Mr. Hudlin for the wonderful story in the Annual. I enjoyed Priest's work, too, but I think his organization and framing could have evolved more (similar to my critique of his Deathstroke stories).

McGregor's story was a layered lamentation; it reminded me of a conversation with Chris Claremont a couple years ago. They lifted the genre two generations ago, and now they're being left behind. While Stan Lee shines in limited cameos, their status may be limited to conventions. T'Challa's sadness about Monica's death paralleled McGregor's mourning the narrative transformation that Priest, Hudlin, and Hickman delivered. It is a hard thing to look at some of your best work and see its limitations.

How many repeat views do you think BP gets? I'm betting average is a little over 2. Some folks will see it twice a week for at least three weeks.

I'm still laughing at Blue Marvel dropping Ultimate Hulk.

Stories about everyday Wakandans are long overdue.

I'm looking for an employment spike among black writers, artists, producers, and technicians over the next decade.
let's build together.

The interchangeable parts on Cleveland are much better this year *because* they are designed to take advantage of GS' relative weakness (McGee/Pachulia v. Bogut/Ezeli). It's like CLE learned from GS the last two years, but kept a smarter, better James at the center of the mix.

Curry, KD, Clay, Dray, & Iguodala can outperform James, Irving, Love, Thompson, and Smith for periods, but will their margin at 42 minutes be enough to overcome their bench issues (Livingston, McGee, etc.) especially if James coordinates their style of 3-point attack while playing center with Frye, Korver, Shumpert, and Williams?

I think GS probably has enough consistency and mental toughness to do it, but they might surprise me, especially if they get arrogant like they did last year.

! No longer available

By themselves, Williams, Korver, Frye, & Shumpert aren't much. With James, they are much better than Livingston, Iguodala, Ezeli, Brandon Rush, Leandro Barbosa.

Co-Sign SI. I enjoy Ultimates2 the most of any book right now.

Until we organize educators, activists, and small business owners to seize control of state and local government, the fringe will remain in power and oligarchs will abuse the public trust.

What are some pragmatic steps we can take?  Should someone like me run for local office?
Oh hell yeah.

At least local political committee. Canvassing and letters to editors (even social media postings) have deeper impacts than we typically acknowledge.

Didn't see the Spiderman - will check it out on your recommendation.
