General Discussion / Re: I Love Your Smile Redux
« on: August 26, 2016, 10:17:08 am »
I welcome the rebirth of this thread.

A sista is done with school. DONE. (At least for the next three years, anyway.) Got my M.S. in the fall of 2014, and now I can hang an M.Ed. next to it. #smartyartnigga

Dig this: my last class for my M.Ed. was a 16-week unpaid library practicum. Brutal experience. 165 mandatory library hours, PLUS all the work that went with it. (54 assignments! Ridiculous.) Anyway, the professor - who told me that black and Hispanic writers have a lack of "quality" literature - gave me an F. Not a C, not a D...an F. Because of that, I missed my May graduation. Again. (They pulled some similar sh*t in the summer of 2014. Surprise - the grade got overturned & I graduated in the fall.)

So this resulted in a three-month grade appeal for a four-month class! Department head, dean and vice-provost ALL said my appeal had "no merit."  It went all the way up the university president. The class was audited & my F got overturned to a B. They also found some other funny business, so prof got her walking papers. As far as I'm concerned, she should've been the FIRST person fired, not the only one. The crazy thing is that if she had given me a C, I wouldn't have contested the grade. The bitch give me an F. AN F, Y'ALL. Nobody - and I mean NO motherf*cking body - fails a practicum. You drop practicum or you're dismissed from practicum. If you make it to the end, you obviously passed.

I mean, when white people want to screw you over, they go through some great f*cking lengths. I don't care anything about my M.S. - too much ill sh*t behind that one - but this M.Ed. is suh-weeeeeeeet.

Latest Flicks / Re: Alexandra Shipp thinks Storm was the queen of Africa

I would've liked if Shipp had said T'Challa and Storm were the rulers of Wakanda as opposed to Africa, with that specificity being a sign that she has done her homework. But that being said, the "In my mind..." let's her off the hook a bit IMO. The way she is conceiving it, Storm might very well have been the queen of the entire continent.

Dude. No. When you've got the ages off by almost TWENTY YEARS, you're f*cking up. Not to mention that Kenya has a good 50 languages/dialects and Africa is not a country. This child is dumb as f*ck and will make Halle Berry look like an Academy Award-winning actress. (Wait...)

So! Is this book still a flip, flop, flip-flippty-flop?

She's too young to be deemed a new black, so I'll let it pass. Hell, she probably feel like she had to. You know how the powers that be always push our kids to  be better, more forgiving, etc. Had this been a white girl, no one would expect such a thing. So yeah, f*ck that guy.

If you really want a hot-rod PC, you need to throw out that stock keyboard & mouse.
Get with the mechanical gaming keyboards with illuminated keys, with additional customizable functionality like the one I own from Steelseries APEX[Raw]

Da FUQ? It's all about the 360 controller up in this bitch!

960 GTX is here...average FPS is 130.8 and max FPS/sec is 257.3. I'ma about to turn ALL of my game settings up to "Ultra High as All f*ck." Well worth the $200 upgrade.

Just ordered a 960 GTX, so I'm stoked! So now the updated setup is as follows:

Motherboard: AMD FX 8320 Black Edition 3.5GHz (OCed to 4.2 GHz)
Processor: ASUS M5A99FX PRO
Memory: Corsair XMS3 4 GB (x2)
EVGA GeForce GTX 960 Super Clocked 2GB
Tuner: WinTV-HVR-1250 HDTV
OS: Windows 8 x64

And my main hard drive is a Kingston SSD. If y'all haven't had the SSD experience in your life, boy...you're missing out!

Ernie Isley, but that's hopefully so I can get some of his drumming skills to wear off on me at the same time.
