A sista is done with school. DONE. (At least for the next three years, anyway.) Got my M.S. in the fall of 2014, and now I can hang an M.Ed. next to it. #smartyartnigga
Dig this: my last class for my M.Ed. was a 16-week unpaid library practicum. Brutal experience. 165 mandatory library hours, PLUS all the work that went with it. (54 assignments! Ridiculous.) Anyway, the professor - who told me that black and Hispanic writers have a lack of "quality" literature - gave me an F. Not a C, not a D...an F. Because of that, I missed my May graduation. Again. (They pulled some similar sh*t in the summer of 2014. Surprise - the grade got overturned & I graduated in the fall.)
So this resulted in a three-month grade appeal for a four-month class! Department head, dean and vice-provost ALL said my appeal had "no merit." It went all the way up the university president. The class was audited & my F got overturned to a B. They also found some other funny business, so prof got her walking papers. As far as I'm concerned, she should've been the FIRST person fired, not the only one. The crazy thing is that if she had given me a C, I wouldn't have contested the grade. The bitch give me an F. AN F, Y'ALL. Nobody - and I mean NO motherf*cking body - fails a practicum. You drop practicum or you're dismissed from practicum. If you make it to the end, you obviously passed.
I mean, when white people want to screw you over, they go through some great f*cking lengths. I don't care anything about my M.S. - too much ill sh*t behind that one - but this M.Ed. is suh-weeeeeeeet.
