I like the modern twist you added, if I need to go there, it would be True Blood but if I could add Blade, it would be even better.  True Blood seemed to not have any "young" Vampires adapting through the ages.  Remember the beginning scene with Tracy Lords and the punk club...loved it!

I'd enjoy True Blood if the show's creators would justify the meaning of the stuttering Ks imagery in the intro and remove it altogether but until then, that show can shove it.
Anne Rice's Vampire series has a more plausible setting. I like some of the undead ideas in the Eddie Murphy/Wes Craven collaboration, "Vampire In Brooklyn".  

...and the 'Twilight' series? Pul-leeze...
Believe it or not, I actually preferred the 'Vampire Sucks' series to the 'Twilight' series.

Of the three I'm going with Vampire Diaries. It's been the most consistent. However it has started to fall off lately.

The opening of True Blood shows the "good" and "bad" of the South, especially showing the themes and inspirations of the show and what they'll be presenting. The KKKs are shown to represent the hate and bigotry that surrounds the show, using the anti-vampire movement of the show to represent the anti-blacks movements.

true blood contains perhaps one of the worst intros in television history. The intro implies that in this modern universe you'd only find a population of blacks and Whites and vampires. The vampires are also a majority of whites  in the South and seemingly no other ethnicity. I'm sure there is a segment of non-black people, who are also non-white, who watch the show  thinking to themselves,

"Ay dios mio! I'm sure glad we're not affected by all that crap!"

  
We can have a show like this give viewers a glimpse of a kkk rally each week in primetime television but we couldn't have Black Panther: The Animated Series in primetime?   It's just silly.

I wished I knew about this show when it first aired because the show's creators  would've had a difficult time convincing me that this show makes a modicum of sense but it's too late. The show is a success! It's been on the air for more than 2 seasons! Which really demonstrates how unsophisticated TV viewers really are.  Yet, in stark contrast, I'm reading comments about folks complaining about Veep (which the reasons are so obvious), another HBO show which is perhaps one of the best TV shows I've seen in 10+ years, perhaps even decades.

Exactly. The title sequence was very well done done. The shifting series of images forces viewers to mentally fill in the gaps between those images. By doing so, we have to connect the dots between these varied images. The shots of the Southern landscape is deliberately slow, while other shots move so fast it's hard to identify exactly what we're seeing. Scenes of plants blossoming and animals decaying are sped up significantly, allowing us to observe their entire life cycles in a matter of seconds. Other shots are shown in real time, like footage of KKK meetings and police brutality during the civil rights era. In this way, the historical real time clips contrast with the surreal presentation of the Southern landscape, informing us that while the True Blood universe may be, in many ways, surreal, the issues it deals with are grounded in reality. The distortion of real time also adds to the highly cinematic quality of the title sequence. The design firm, Digital Kitchen, did the sequence. I believe they were nominated for a Emmy.

All that being said, if I had gun placed to head, I'd pick True Blood out of the 3 choices. At least I can check out Rutina Wesley:

The intro to true blood doesn't lend much to the viewer's imagination in terms of 'creatively done'. It's not poetic license in everything you've written in your descriptive point-of-view because that's how you see it. When there's a notorious hate group on display, it's no longer subjective, it is now literal in its meaning; It's too literal in its execution to be enjoyable.

I wasn't trying to offend or embarras anyone by my observation and If I did, please accept my apology, however, this issue of subject matter is a glaring example of that 'double standard' we always hear about.
