Hey, I'm all for nostalgia and everything but does anyone believe this is taking the concept a little too far?  
I saw the new Jeep Grand Wagoneer posted on Yahoo! Autos as one of "8 SUVs worth waiting for". In this day and age, why would an automaker think that using side wood-paneling on the exterior of a metal vechicle a novel idea to revisit?  
It was a dumb idea in the 70s at that time, why would anyone want to bring this _______ back now??

Yeah, I'm gonna have to go with Fred's car between the two. 
It has better gas mileage considering it doesn't actually use gas to run (quite literally).

I actually got the joke from one of Arsenio Hall's monologue when he hosted his TV show back-in-th-day:  "Things That Make You Go Hmmmm."

Seriously, though, the Wagoneer has a classic chasis (I hate the word 'retro' ) I like. Love that grill. Just feel that the wood-paneling on each side of the exterior goes to some astonishing extremes, y'know?
