After watching this season of Agents of Shield, don't you think Henry Simmons would be a good Luke Cage?

I still think he's too pretty.

Heh.  Agreed.  I grew up with tiara crown wearing Luke cage, Power Man.

I'm a little surprised anyone remembers who that artist is anymore.  ;D

So is it me or has anybody else noticed how they brought two black male characters onto the show and then essentially killed them off?  Guess I should have expected that, huh? >:(

I'm not sure that Mack is gone. Though I would have preferred losing him over Trip. Granted they didn't do much with Trip, but at least he does more than Mack to me.

Mack isn't gone, but Trip definitely is. And that ticked me off.

Yeah. I disappointed that they never developed Trip. It appears that the character was scheduled to be written out in Season 1, but once they made the decision to keep him on I wish he had gotten a bit more development. In Season 1 there seemed to be some thing between him and Simmons but the show never explored that. Instead we got bad boy Hunter and Bobbi Morse. I'm glad for Bobbi, but I could've done without Hunter.

Totally agree!  Baffled by Hunter's addition and frustrated by Trip's loss.  With him being the great grandson of Gabe Jones, an original Howling Commando, it would seem to have made sense to develop Trip for a larger role with the team and the new SHIELD?  Sacrificing Hunter to the Terigen mists could have been equally impactful or at least equally effective in underscoring they danger they all face, IMO.

Peace,

Mont

Okay, Mack may still be around but he has been "neutered" for the time being. Also, as I initially alluded, there were two black male characters (in a cast with several more non-black characters) on a prime time TV show and as per usual Hollywood practice one of them had to die (written off).

I think Mack started off neutered. But Trip was neutered too, at least when it came to be a virile, love interest for Simmons, May, or Skye.

Marvel AoS stepped it up a bit for this season's opener.

Not feeling this season so far.  Hope it picks up or I'm thinking we may be seeing its last season.

I hope Mack and Elena get some prominent storylines this season.

I wonder will we get to see some known super villains this season.

Nice introduction to Ghost Rider.  I never read any of the Robbie Reyes comics, so I'm new to this interpretation.  Still Zarathos?

Interesting to see Simmons in a supervisory role.  We'll see how she enjoys it-- or not.

We'll see what happens with the android woman- I hope they don't overdo it with her not having clothes, lol.  There's also some subtext to be mined regarding men who create hot-looking obedient robotic women (I never saw the Ex Machina movie-- worth it?).

I didn't have a problem with the first episode at all.
And they handled Ghost Rider and his car was really cool.
I liked it better than the movie version. Looked good to me.
