HARD CHOICES: THE SUPREMES OR LABELLE

Who wins? The bad girls of glam rock

...or the sweethearts of Motown?

I'm definitely going w/Labelle on this one. I love the Supremes, but Labelle was actually SAYING something. (Plus I have a crush on Nona Hendryx!)

In terms of impact on music... I'm going with The Supremes.

Hit records, no doubt the supremes.  But, I might get a tongue lashing from someone with this POV:  Labelle's has better voices.

No worries there. I'll say the Supremes had more of an impact on music...

...but you know Patti would whoop them on the stage all by herself.

Again, IAWL.  And I like Nona Hendryx, too.  Is her solo album available on CD?  That one with Transformation and Steady Action.  I've got the vinyl but I can't recall the title.  Still, The Supremes' body of work is substantial.  As for talent, you could throw The Emotions in the mix, too.

That's what makes it a VERY GOOD hard choice.  Patti is an Omega Level voice.  But you ever listen to the Supremes boxed set?

p.s. I SWEAT is my favorite Nona H. jam.

HEE! "I Sweat" is my sh*t too! And Nona's going to always be sexy.

All of them can blow, still! I love how they can still come together and perform, while the Supremes are still fighting like they're backstage at the Apollo and can't find their frickin' lipstick. To not even be able to put it aside for the night you get into the Rock and Roll HoF is just pathetic.

But you ever listen to the Supremes boxed set?

I got it for my grandmother for Mother's Day. ;)

Hmmmmm...Patti or Florence in the All-Star SANGIN' Olympics is a hard one. And the Tiny Cutie of the Decade - Diana Ross or Sarah Dash? On one hand, Sarah is now as wide as she is tall...but at least her teeth are still white. Then you have Mary Wilson versus Nona Hendryx for Sexiest Girl Grouper...Mary was beautiful, but Nona...well Nona was Nona.

Supremes!
For ALL the aforementioned reasons.
