MOONRISE KINGDOM

Wes Anderson's handmade style of filmmaking inspires me like no one else.  They are delicate little constructions, small in scale but epic in filmmaking style, usually featuring precocious but quirky kids and their odd interlocking families, and this one fits that description to a tee.

Wes loves books and art, and his films ooze with that love.  The costumes, art direction and set decoration often feel like the true stars of the show.

As a person who regularly goes to Martha's Vineyard, this affectionate take on worlds like that is very charming.

The two young stars feel like kids we're be seeing in films for a long time.  Both did amazing work.
