FURIOUS 6
« on: May 22, 2013, 07:47:49 am »
I thought the last F & F movie was one of the best of last year, and I think F6 is one of the best of this year.  This movie is fun as hell from beginning to end.  The entire cast gets a lot more shine in this one, and the cars are NUTZ.  If you're  stickler for the laws of physics, or wonder too much how people survive impossible crashes and jumps, this movie is not for you.  But if you want to see the Avengers without capes, order your tickets.

I just saw this. It was a very entertaining film. I don't quite think I like it as much as Fast Five though. There were a lot of impossible action but I just rolled with it and chuckled a little at some points. I thought some of the chase scenes were a little hard to follow and of course the plot unraveled before the end of the film. Or at least the big bad's plan started making less sense, but hey, it's a Fast & Furious movie, so I'm not judging it too harshly.

Everyone had a moment or two in the film. I was surprised by how much Tyrese carried the film, with him being the main comic relief. Ludacris would also join in with him from time to time. Gina Carano was a welcome addition-though unfortunately she has limited acting skills. However she is great with the action.

I recommend that you stay after a minute. Right before the credits roll you get a teaser of what's to come.

Oh yeah, the post credits scene is even better than the one in the last episode, which was fantastic.

Kudos to the latest installment!  I must say, the epilogue is infuriating (noo!!!), but still got me excited for what's next... ;)

Loved this flick.

"The Avengers without capes."

Yeah, that what this series has. become, hasn't it?

Who knew a little movie about fast cars and the bad boys who
love them (and the girls who love the boys) would blowup like this?

At this point, trying to follow the deranged plot is half the fun.

You guys are right about Tyrese and Luda, they make this movie.
The comedy relief distracts from the goofy plot.

You kinda half to wonder how they are gonna too this one.
They've used fast cars to fight drug lords, high end thieves and now terrorists.

The end of the movie makes me wonder if two franchises are gonna merge.

P.S.: One of the lines that got the biggest laughs was Dom's "You don't have to leave." to the Brazilian
lady from the last movie.

If Dom had managed to pull THAT off it would have put all the other incredible feats in the movie to shame!

That's the beauty of knowing there's a sequel...we will see that Brazilian beauty again...it could still happen!

As for the scale, yes, I don't know how they get bigger.  Basically our boys from the hood went all the way to James Bond on this one. It was even set in London!  It's like they grew up and really did it right.

My favorite is still the first and the fourth one but this one was really good as well. I think for me the main highlight was the Han and Gisele relationship. Han somehow became my favorite character in the franchise and Gisele is just.......amazing.

Watching the film again, among the things that occurred to me:

..I wonder who all will be part of Statham's revenge crew in the next film-

Sung Kang would make for a cool Shang Chi @ Marvel-- I think I'll tweet him about it.

I agree. Suprisingly moving for a film like this.  Tribute to both actors.
