Jim.  Would Steve Martin fit in this category?

This is a tough one, but I have to go with Robin. When he is on, he is on! Like Reggie said, his stand up is just manic. I know its gotten a little played out over the years, but nobody made me laugh harder when I was a kid. He's also a much better actor than he gets credit for these days. Just look at a sample of his movies: Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Will Hunting and One Hour Photo. He can transition from ludicrous to silly to dramatic to frighting with ease. Most think of him as a comedian but he is a legit dramatic actor.

That's no slight against Jim. His stand up is great (the guy has a rubber face) and he hit it out the park immediately with Ace Ventura, The Mask and Dumb & Dumber. Hell, Fire Marshall Bill used to make me laugh so hard I would cry.  He can pull off the dramatic roles, too - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one my my favorite movies. So, I guess it just comes down to personal preference because I'm about to talk myself into choosing Jim instead.

This still kills me. I wish NBC wasn't such a stickler for their videos because the original is so much better.

Robin Williams' body of work is pretty huge.

So he has had way more opportunities to show his dramatic range than Carrey has.

I mean The Majestic is a pretty decent movie and Carrey is very good in it, but its kinda the
only movie like that that I remember him doing.

Man in the Moon he's playing a comedian and The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind
are both fantasy films to an extent.

Williams has played Doctors, Teachers and crazed Photo Techs.

I can see where Williams act can get old quick. It's probably a good thing that
he seems to have taken a bit of a break.
