ALWAYS AND FOREVER vs. REASONS

This is a contest between the two classic slow jams, NOT the groups that created them.

Always and Forever. 10th Grade, my first house party and my first ever slow dance. That song gave me the courage to go straight at the top of the "fine honeys" food chain with Miss Cathy Gaylord, a junior on the Volleyball and Track teams. The birth of a "Mack" 8)

"Always and Forever" is actually a love song. "Reasons" is about a one night stand (listen closely to the lyrics).

Dead on. "Had no pride."
I heard an interview with Philip Bailey talking about an incident that led to the song when he was on the circuit promoting his memoir, Shining Star: Braving the Elements of Earth, Wind & Fire. Aftermath of a groupie encounter.

So that's a vote for Always and Forever, a lovely sentiment. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Reasons was actually more "effective" as background music...

Always & Forever.

Although, I don't have a secret crush story connected to this song, I've always felt that the lyrics to the song were strung together very beautifully. The real strength of the song is the string section giving it a fairy tale-like aura.

Only experienced DJs know how to play this song right.  ;)
