Current season of TV's 'Key & Peele' will be its last: 'It was just time'
ca.0127.key.peele.

The current season of “Key & Peele” will be the last for the show but not the end of the collaboration between creators and stars Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.

The show, which airs on Comedy Central, was nominated for seven Emmy Awards this year, including Outstanding Variety Sketch Series and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Key. The show also won a Peabody Award in 2013, and Key performed his popular character of President Obama’s “anger translator” along with the president himself earlier this year.

On Saturday afternoon, Peele posted to his Twitter page a link to a story in The Wrap by Steve Pond that said the show would be ending its run at the end of the current fifth season. He followed that up with messages that read “Don’t miss the last 8 episodes!” and “Love u.”

“It’s not because of Comedy Central; it’s us,” Key told The Wrap. “It was just time for us to explore other things, together and apart. I compare it to Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor. We might make a movie and then do our own thing for three years and then come back and do another movie.

“I’m thinking we could do that every three years — take a year, go bang out a movie. That’s the plan right now.”

The pair have a number of projects for film and television in the works, both together and separately, including “Keanu,” a comedy they recently shot together, and a reboot of “Police Academy.”

Saw that event live through CNN where DL Hughley sitting next to Tara Setmayer as a guest on the show commented about the 'Black Lives Matter' movement.
When Key entered the stage in-character, I just lost it!  ...cause I knew what was coming next...!

2018 WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS DINNER

Washington - The White House Correspondents' Association is pleased to announce that comedian Michelle Wolf will be the entertainer at the WHCA's annual dinner on Saturday, April 28, 2018.

Since the current guest of dishonor went AWOL last year (like he did during the Vietnam War conflict), this year puppetine plans to do the same.

Can Michelle Wolf rock the mic similar to roasters like Mr. Hasan Minhaj, who slayed the twitter troll-in-chief last year, and the comedian-in-chief, Mr. Barack H. Obama  the year before that who received the biggest laughs?

Stay tuned.

Michelle Wolf:

"We are graced with sarah’s presence tonight. I have to say I’m a little star-struck. I love you as Aunt Lydia in 'The Handmaid’s Tale'. mike pence, if you haven’t seen it, you would love it.

Every time sarah steps up to the podium I get excited, because I’m not really sure what we’re going to get — y' know, a press briefing, a bunch of lies or divided into softball teams. “It’s shirts and skins, and this time don’t be such a little bitch, Jim Acosta!”

I actually really like sarah. I think she’s very resourceful. She burns facts, and then she uses that ash to create a perfect smokey eye. Like maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s lies.

It’s probably lies.

And I’m never really sure what to call sarah huckabee sanders, y' know?
Is it sarah sanders, is it sarah huckabee sanders, is it cousin huckabee, is it auntie huckabee sanders?
Like, what’s Uncle Tom but for white women who disappoint other white women?

Oh, I know... aunt coulter."

Darlin' Nikki's Weak Attempt At Humor
by Rick Gladstone

For about 17 minutes Thursday night in the New York Hilton ballroom, nikki haley, emperor puppetines’s soon-to-be-leaving ambassador to the United Nations, tried her hand at one-liners before a crowd of 700 guests at an annual charity dinner, a high-powered event of the political and Roman Catholic elite hosted by Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan.

White House Correspondents’ Dinner Course Correction: Ron Chernow to Headline

White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) president Olivier Knox announced today that presidential biographer Ron Chernow will headline the 2019 White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

In response to the announcement, comedian Michelle Wolf tweeted:  “The @whca are cowards. The media is complicit. And I couldn’t be prouder.”

This year, the Executive Mansion Correspondents’ Association dinner will have a historian as its host, so Wolf‘s remarks were a real service.
by Kenzie Bryant

At the Cipriani in Midtown Manhattan on Friday, Variety gathered legions of ladies for its annual Power of Women luncheon.

But it was a man in the audience who gave the day’s host, Michelle Wolf, a reason to reprise some of the WHCD dinner material that made her a household name almost exactly a year ago:

Jeff Zucker, there to introduce one of this year’s honorees, the inimitable Christiane Amanpour.

“Jeff Zucker is, of course, the president of CNN, who hates the puppet so much he only gives him and his surrogates all of the airtime,”

Wolf said as part of her opening comments.

“CNN, you seem smart and respectable, yet you’re inexplicably in bed with Kellyanne [Conway]. Who are you? Her husband? And why do you still have Steve Bannon on your shows? We’ve seen enough of him, especially after that new cameo in the new Pet Sematary. I don’t want to spoil it, but he’s one of the dead animals.”

And, just like that, the lunch was “WHCD, Part Deux":

The Jokes Keep Coming.” (Wolf had one about that, too: “I don’t know why people keep asking me to do these. Historically, I ruin them.”)

She portioned out some bite to Fox News:

“To be fair, I don’t just dislike CNN; I’m not a fan of any 24-hour news—and also fox, which I don’t think can be considered news. fox is news the same way cauliflower is pizza crust: it’s a sh*tty substitute [and] disturbingly white.” :)

And to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell:

“Every time you don’t think a race issue is a woman’s issue, you are actively halting the advancement of women. And we don’t need women to do that—that’s what the government is for. Mitch McConnell might not be able to keep his neck from covering his body, but he sure can stop women from choosing what to do with theirs.”

And to acting-Vice President Mike Pence:

“As a woman, I often have people say to me, ‘You’re vulgar, you’re classless, and you’re no lady.’ And to all of that, I say, ‘Aww, thank you. You noticed.’ I don’t want to be a polite little lady. I don’t care if people think my voice is shrill, or the topics I talk about are gross because my voice is shrill, and some of the topics I talk about are gross . . . You can’t put me or any other woman in a box, you know, despite what Mike Pence wants. This joke brought to you by Woman Box, only $49.99. ‘The devil can’t get you when she’s in a box.’”

And the white women who elected the puppet:

“I do think in the last few years we have seen that women can do anything, including elect a puppet president, proving that the only thing that women hate more than men is other women. ‘Sure, he grabbed a couple pussies and may not actually be able to read, but, I don’t know—I just don’t like her voice.’ As a white woman, I’d like to say, ‘I’d like to speak to our manager.’”

And, finally, former vice president Joe Biden:

“Who knows? Maybe 2020 will be different. We have more women running for president than in any other time in American history, so let’s show them as much support as possible, before eventually giving up and rallying behind Joe Biden. When we’re behind him, he can’t touch us.”

It wasn’t all politics and media, media and politics, there at the Cipriani, however.

Each of the honorees—who, besides Amanpour, included Kacey Musgraves, Bette Midler, Gigi Hadid, and Taraji P. Henson—was awarded for humanitarian extra-curriculars.

Likewise, Lifetime presented the event, and welcomed three victims of R. Kelly’s alleged abuse; the three got a standing ovation when they spoke.

Musgraves, who was honored for her work with the Grammy Museum, didn’t exactly echo Wolf’s points, but described an instance in which following her instincts paid off.

She was fighting to release “Merry Go ’Round” as her first single, but the brass said it wasn’t enough of an upbeat anthem.

Musgraves said she wouldn’t feel proud of herself if she changed her plan in order to sell more.

At the luncheon, she added, “I was actually met with the word-for-word response—this is from a grown man, one that runs a company, saying, ‘Well, sometimes in this business, you’ve just got to do things that you’re not proud of.’ And I said, ‘That’s where me and you are very different.’”

Later, Midler, who was honored for founding the environmental nonprofit New York Restoration Project, told a story about being her own boss.

“So, I have been in the biz for over 50 years,” she said.

“and although my career may seem to glitter with hits, it has also been spattered by plenty of trash. I don’t remember who it was that said she only did things that she was proud of; I have done so much that I’m not proud of. Oh, I am so ashamed of so much of what I’ve done. And yet I persevere!”

“I’m the Marie Kondo of the outdoors,” she added.

“Because, make no mistake: I love nature, despite what it did to me.”

The W.H.C.A. may have folded to pressure and tapped historian Ron Chernow for the dinner this April 27 (the puppet will not be attending regardless), but, thanks to Wolf, Midler, and others, the Variety Power of Women event provided enough material to hold us over until—I don’t know—the end of days?

Women really can do it all.
