It's the original Captain Marvel.

Weak.

Personallly I thought the story was very weak and disappointing, what you all think?

What? So one of the very few heroes to stay dead - won't? I'm a huge Genis-Vell fan, but he's already been killed off, hasn't he?

Ugh. You've got to be kidding me.  :-[
Do you prefer a hero who will confirm your deepest fears? Or a hero who will inspire faith in humanity and goodness?

My thoughts--it was weak in that it was mostly narration rather than a action or even drama.

SPOILERS

But on the plus side, I'm happy that they are respecting the Death of Captain Marvel, but making this a product of time travel rather than undoing the death.  CM still must return to the past.  (Of course, if someone remembers, Marvel rarely time travels witin your own time line and usually you enter an similar alternate reality, so this may actually be another universe's version of CM.)

OK, not worried about the spoilers, but why? Genis already destroyed the universe once, and seemed cured of his insanity.

I thought it was weak. I really am getting tired of every dead character coming back. Damn! Can't  some of these folks just stay six feet under? Can some of these writers be more creative than bringing back dead people?

I'm glad I read it without buying it...now I know I can skip the rest of the issues.

My question is: What the point?

Mar-Vell has been dead since the early 80's.

His son, Genis-Vell recent series lasted 50 issues was recently cancelled and he was just killed off in Thunderbolts. He at least as intresting as the original and has the advantage of not being off the board for over a decade.

And if your going to hype a story in a one-shot comic, the least Marvel could do is y'know like use all 24-odd pages to tell the story.

$#!%-heads.

While I like Mar-Vell, I found Genis to be far more interesting.  Maybe its just my love for PAD and Fabian, but give me Gen over Mar any day...and let Mar stay dead.  His death was my favorite story with him and really was masterfully done.

slightly off topic, but when i auditioned for the voice over competition for the Ultimate Avengers video, I had a graphic that said, "you can't spell MARVEL without ARVELL!

:D

okay...back to the topic at hand.
