There is a new TV series called Rush Hour; yes, that Rush Hour. But instead of Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan, it stars Justin Hires and Jon Foo.
It's not very good; a mere shadow of the movies. But the biggest flaw I'm seeing is this:
Foo is not trying to be Jackie Chan even when delivering the same lines. He isn't trying to copy not in his mannerism or his fighting style, which is a good thing, but no one else can be Jackie Chan.
Hires however is trying to be Chris Tucker, and he can't be him either. I wish he would just put his own stamp on the character.
But even that might not help this series.
