Kudos!

Too bad it's on the streaming service only.

In any case, I wonder how this is going to be retrofitted with the original show's general continuity.  No chance of a cameo, everybody's too old or dead now.  I guess we'll have to see.  I would have gone with an all new crew in the Nu-Trek Universe.  Might as well.

CBS will at least show the first episode on their network before shifting it to All Access, at least that was the plan before. But there's been changes behind-the-scenes and maybe that will change too. It does suck that it's going to be on All Access. I'm not buying that and I'll just wait to watch the show when it comes to DVD.

Discovery's continuity will be in the Prime Universe with the rest of the television shows. It will not be in the JJ Abrams continuity, which is called the Kelvin Timeline/Universe. Unfortunately I don't know how they are going to fit in the original cast because Discovery is set ten years before the original series. I mean we could see younger versions of Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and also Sarek and Spock's mom, but I can't see how they will bring back the original actors playing the same original characters. Of course they could play new characters but that takes away some of the fun. And I could see maybe at least two characters from ENT still surviving to cameo on Discovery (T'Pol and Phlox).

Really good idea.

My dad loved Star Trek...specifically, Next Generation.  He would be so happy about this new series.

I just wish the story want set ten years before TOS; I'd rather ten years after Voyager.

Voyager ended with the crew making it back to Earth. Sometime after that Janeway is promoted to admiral. She makes a cameo in Star Trek Nemesis. I also didn't watch a lot of Voyager and the two seasons of Enterprise. I've got to pump myself up to finish both on Netflix.
