I suspect that most Repubs just want to flatly repeal it. The free-market absolutism isn't working, but none of them have the courage to publicly critique it. Meanwhile, senate and house members have incredible coverage, and a substantive salary to pay for any coverage gaps. It is ghastly that physicians like Rand Paul casually co-sign on the proposal to remove the AHCA altogether.
As far as Dems-- aside from fighting to block the most egregious of changes that are sure to come-- they had better damn well prioritize promoting universal health care at this point; it is morally dubious as it is to slash up the AHCA as it is; just seeking to "re-tweak" whatever comes out with the GOP overhaul isn't good enough for me; not by a long shot. I'm putting all my representatives on notice.
