I am super stoked for this even before this trailers. I am one fo the few it seemst hat loves Thor and TDW.

But holy moly, this looks fun as hell.

And holy moly, Hela looks badass

and Hulk looks amazeballs

And I think they are going to play to Hemsworth's strength (comedic) in this. that last line was hilarious

This looks great. This might be my favorite of all the Thor flicks.

On the internet they are already calling this Asgardians Of The Galaxy. But that's a good thing, IMO.

Take what works.

Give the people what they want.

But, there are obviously going to be some "darker" moments. Hell, GoG had them too (hell, the first scene made my wife cry lol).

I wonder if Hela will have any nuance of if she is just going to be, "bad ass mean god of death"

skurge is pulled straight from the comics.

And we haven't even seen a glimpse of Surtur, Odin, or Fenri

and I have no idea What loki is doing in this movie lol

I don't know what it is but it really does feel like a lot of fun.  Almost as if its taking a little bit of Guardians of the Galaxy, that's what its feeling like to me.

During the "Batman Vs. Superman" dystopia
A guy on the job said he loved the new Batmobile in the movie
Thankfully we were on the phone so he was spared face when WE remembered
You could not see the Batmobile in that Super Hero movie, it was at best a shadow of "Turbines To Power..."

The trailer had a feel like the old Flash Gordon film to me. There's something a bit too lightweight about. It does have good production values and it seems like Hemsworth is having fun.

Just speculating:

What if someone like Hercules was one of the residents of Sakaar?

This would be the battle-loving Hercules who loves to "bestow the gift" -- he could see the contests as an enjoyable test of his fighting skills.

Ares as the god of war wouldn't mind getting into gladiator combat, for sure.  I don't see him obeying the Grandmaster, however.

It would have been intriguing if the filmmakers decided to include Hercules, or Ares.

I think Marvel is screaming at people, "THIS IS SO DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER THOR MOVIES!"

as a side note, while we have heard of RDJ and Evans mentioning there time might be up at Marvel soon... we really haven't heard much from Hemsworth. OF course he isn't as far alogn in his contract as the other two, doesn't have directing ambitions like Evans, and isn't has big/old as RDJ, so I wonder if he is willing to stay on for more movies?

Thor is one franchise where you can make limitless movies really... his rogues are large and he bounces from scif/cosmic to earth stuff effortlessly. And he really doesn't have a true "legacy" character that has a large name like IM or Cap. And at the same time.. he is likely teh cheapest of the three.

I think the comedic stuff is goign to play to his strengths better than broody romance

i'll be curious what other surprises this movie has hidden. They just went straight for it in the first trailer... showing hela, mjolnir explosion, hair cut, gladiator, hulk.  Hell, the first scene with Mjolnir geting destroyed... it looks to be on Earth and Loki is there too if you look quick. Where is Strange?

I wonder if Mjolnir gets re-forged, and by whom?  Odin?  Dr. Strange?  Dwarves?

Or... does Thor get the Jarnbjorn axe by the end of the movie, and there is a hint that a re-forged Mjolnir is picked up by a woman. (???)   :o

I saw Skurge the Executioner, with the assault rifles from that Simonson arc.

I wonder if Amora is seen in this film?  It would be cool if she were.

the "retro" lettering definitely gives the trailer an 80s feel.

I wonder at what point in the film does the fight with Hulk take place?  Is he known as the Green Scar?  How did he get on Sakaar to begin with?  Do Quinjets have space-travel capabilities?

'Asgardians of the Galaxy" is pretty doggone clever.

This trailer was crazy effective.  It turned everyone around on this movie instantly.

You're not the only one who enjoys the Thor series! ;)

I may not see these movies in the theater but I damn sure love watching them at home! :)
If this latest movie is as excellent as the previous episodes, count me in!

Love the trailer. Though its kinda bittersweet to me.

Sooo because Universal still has the distribution rights to Hulk, another Hulk movie isn't going to happen (MS and U can work together but apparently its difficult and such, U's right of refusal, theme park, bad blood blah blah). A lot of moving parts. So that means a Planet Hulk movie may never happen, let alone another Hulk movie period.

But a Planet Hulk in all but name can easily happen. And after my excitement calmed down I realized that's exactly what Thor: Ragnarok is.

Hulk = Thor
Caiera = Valkyrie
Red King = Grandmaster
Korg and Miek = Korg and Miek

I just don't know who Hulk himself is standing in as an analog for. I want to say Silver Surfer (Beta Ray Bill if you want to go by the cartoon movie), but it could be Hiroim, or an amalgam of the above and others I may be forgetting.

Now its not a perfect 1:1 but close enough and it takes place on Sakaar.

I'll be there opening night so this isn't a complaint, just bittersweet I'll never see a "true" Planet Hulk movie anytime soon.

It also makes me wonder...so out of Thor's catalogue of stories, NONE of them can work onscreen to generate a movie success, to the point they have to take another character's story and swap out his elements for Thor's???
