When Racists Attack: Provo, Utah
by Pat Reavy

Two brothers from Payson were formally charged Tuesday with a hate crime in the attack of a black Latter-day Saint missionary.

Sebastian Francis West, 19, and Malachi Bay West, 20, are each charged in 4th District Court with assault, a third-degree felony.

Prosecutors are seeking gang and hate crime enhancements on the potential penalty if the men are convicted, according to court documents.

On January 28th, two missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were going to a home in Payson to teach when they encountered a group of six to seven men, that included the West brothers, who were threatening one of the residents in the front yard, according to charging documents.

“The suspects were in dark hoodies and bandanas covered the lower halves of their faces. One of the missionaries, who is Panamanian and dark-skinned, attempted to intervene and asked the suspects to leave,” the charges state.

The black missionary then took out his cellphone to call police, but one of the men in the group took it and threw it across the street, according to charging documents.

The black missionary then took out his cellphone to call police, but one of the men in the group took it and threw it across the street, according to charging documents.

“When victim retrieved the phone, the group redirected their attention towards him — they swore and yelled at victim, repeatedly called him a (racial slur) and told him to go back to where he came from,” the charges state.

The racial slur the men used multiple times was the N-word, according to police.

The men then brandished brass knuckles, and intimidated the missionary as he tried to go into the house, according to the charges.

“As victim attempted to retreat back to the residence, one of the suspects dove at his feet, attempting to tackle him, while another punched victim in the head. At that point, he was attacked by all of the suspects. Victim was punched and kicked repeatedly by the group, and eventually tackled to the ground,” the charges state.

While struggling on the ground with the missionary, the group repeatedly used the racial slur while making statements such as, “This is our town,” “This is our turf,” “Go back to slavery,” and “Go home you stupid (racial slur),” the charges state.

The group also called the missionary “church boy” and “told him to ‘go back to Bible school you filthy, stupid (racial slur).’

Victim sustained numerous injuries, including to his lips, head, shoulder, ribs and forehead,” investigators wrote in the charging documents.

During the assault, one of the men called out to another man in the group, using the name “Malachi,” the charges state.

“Familiar with a young man by the name of ‘Malachi,’ police presented several lineups to victim, two of which included a photo of defendants. Victim picked each defendant out of their respective lineup,” according to the court documents.

Sebastian West is also charged in a separate criminal case with a violent assault on January 9th in Payson Canyon.

In April, Governor Gary Herbert signed a hate crime bill into law aimed at putting more power into state penalties when victims are targeted because of their race, religion, sexual orientation or other personal characteristics.

When Racists Attack: Portland, Oregon
by Blue Telusma

An Oregon man was convicted of killing two men who stepped in to stop his racist tirade against two Black women showed no remorse as he listened to the jury’s verdict.

According to the Associated Press, Jeremy Christian was found guilty of murdering Taliesin Namkai-Meche and Ricky Best in May 2017.

The two good samaritans were fatally stabbed aboard a Portland train while attempting to thwart Christian from targeting two Black passengers.

In addition to several other charges, the Portland native was also convicted of attempted murder for stabbing Micah Fletcher who fortunately survived his injuries.

Prosecutors also allege that the night before the tragic incident he assaulted another Black woman aboard a MAX train.

In total, Christian was convicted on 12 counts and now faces life in prison.

“There’s no way I can explain what happened,” he told responding officers on the day of his arrest.

“Except both of those people would be alive if they had kept their hands to themselves. Or got off the train or allowed me to have my free speech.”

Investigators say that on May 26th, 2017, Christian –  who is reportedly affiliated with the far-right group Patriot Prayer and has been seen giving the Nazi salute – boarded a crowded commuter train and then began to shout racist and Islamophobic slurs at two women.

Both of his targets were Black and one of them who is a Somali immigrant was wearing a headscarf at the time.

After he made a slicing motion across his neck and threatened decapitation, that’s when Namkai-Meche began attempted to film his outburst.

Unfortunately, Christian was able to grab his cellphone and smashed it on the floor.

When Fletcher tried to intervene, Christian shoved him.

To everyone’s horror, moments later, Christian pulled out a folding knife and in a matter of seconds stabbed both men 11 times.

He also randomly began stabbing a third passenger, who was just an innocent bystander.

All three stabbing victims were white and the Black victims, Destinee Magnum and Walio Mohamed were emotional as they gave testimony from the stand.

Prosecutors were also able to play video from the attack despite Christian’s violent attempts to stop it from being captured.

“I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon,” Magnum said through tears.

“So, like, I don’t feel like I should go somewhere else, I don’t feel like I have to go back to where I came from because I’m born here. It just made me feel like, ‘Why?’ There’s no reason.”

Christian plead not guilty by reason of mental illness and showed no emotion during the trial or the verdict hearing.

When Racists Attack!
by Hunter Walker & Jana Winter

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) — White supremacists discussed plans to weaponize Covid-19 via “saliva,” a “spray bottle” or “laced items,” according to a weekly intelligence brief distributed by a federal law enforcement division on February 17th 2020.

Federal investigators appeared to be monitoring the white nationalists’ communications on Telegram, an encrypted messaging app that has become popular with neo-Nazis.

In the conversations, the white supremacists suggested targeting law enforcement agents and “nonwhite” people with attacks designed to infect them with the coronavirus.

“Violent extremists continue to make bioterrorism a popular topic among themselves,” reads the intelligence brief written by the Federal Protective Service, which covered the week of February 17th - 24th.

“White Racially Motivated Violent Extremists have recently commented on the Covid-19 stating that it is an ‘OBLIGATION’ to spread it should any of them contract the virus.”

The Federal Protective Service, part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is a law enforcement agency responsible for protecting buildings owned or leased by the federal government.

The intelligence brief, marked for official use only, noted the white supremacists “suggested targeting … law enforcement and minority communities, with some mention of public places in general.”

According to the document, the extremists discussed a number of methods for Covid-19 attacks, such spending time in public with perceived enemies, leaving “saliva on door handles” at local FBI offices, spitting on elevator buttons and spreading Covid-19 germs in “nonwhite neighborhoods.”

The February document appears to show that at least some white nationalists were already taking the threat of the Covid-19 seriously at a time when some in government were downplaying the threat.

On February 26th, the acting-president said that he expected the cases to go down to zero in the United States in “a couple of days.”

The Washington Post reported on Friday that intelligence agencies were issuing “ominous” warnings about the virus in January and February.

The Department of Homeland Security did not respond to requests for comment.

According to the Federal Protective Service intelligence brief, the discussion of spreading the coronavirus occurred in a channel on the app Telegram that is devoted to the “siege culture” philosophies of neo-Nazi author James Mason and “accelerationism.”

Mason wrote a series of newsletters titled “Siege” in the 1980s that advocated for acts of racial terrorism in order to hasten a war that would cause the breakdown of society.

In recent years, Mason’s writings became popular among members of the violent neo-Nazi group Atomwaffen Division and its offshoots.

Mason could not be reached for comment.

Growing numbers of white supremacists have also expressed interest in “accelerationism,” which involves advocating for extremist attacks with the express goal of provoking a larger societal conflict.

Nick Martin, who is the editor of the Informant, a newsletter focused on hate and extremist groups and a former investigative reporter at the Southern Poverty Law Center, told Yahoo News that multiple newer neo-Nazi groups with younger members have brought Mason to prominence.

“There’s a whole branch of neo-Nazism that follows James Mason's writings and uses his work as kind of their bible. Atomwaffen is part of that, but there are multiple groups that would fall under the same category,” Martin said.

Homeland Security has identified white supremacist violence as one of the major domestic extremist threats facing the United State, and there has been a push to start tracking such groups the way U.S. intelligence agencies track foreign terrorists.

Atomwaffen Division has made headlines because of multiple criminal cases involving the group’s leadership.

Martin, who has written extensively about the group, said some of his sources believe there is a possibility followers of Atomwaffen or similar groups could try to take advantage of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“There is a big concern right now — including from people who work in counterterrorism — that it’s an opportune time for these accelerationist groups to strike,” Martin said.

When Racists Attack: Belton, Missouri
by David Neiwert

Given the intensity of the conspiracy theories on the radical right that have arisen around the Covid-19 pandemic—particularly the number of rightists claiming that government lockdown orders are an initial step in the imposition of a tyrannical order—it was only a matter of time before the U.S. experienced its first Covid-19-related act of domestic terrorism.

On Tuesday, a Missouri man named Timothy Wilson made preparations to set off a car bomb at a local hospital in suburban Belton, which was intended as a revolt against the stay-at-home order issued by Belton’s mayor, but his plan was cut short by an FBI raid.

When he apparently resisted with a weapon, he ended up being shot and killed.

Wilson had been the subject of an ongoing domestic terrorism investigation since September, according to an FBI statement.

“Wilson was actively planning to commit an act of domestic terrorism—a bombing—and over the course of several months had considered several targets,” it read.

A number of far-right extremists have claimed that the pandemic is secretly a cover for the imposition of a totalitarian “globalist” government.

Wilson, who was a participant in neo-Nazi chat rooms, decided to enact a plan he had already concocted for creating a car bomb and use it on a hospital in Belton, the FBI said.

“Wilson considered various targets and ultimately settled on an area hospital in an attempt to harm many people, targeting a facility that is providing critical medical care in today’s environment,” the statement read.

“Wilson had taken the necessary steps to acquire materials needed to build an explosive device.”

There was no actual bomb.

Wilson had arrived at a residence in Belton with his own vehicle, believing the person there had constructed a device for him.

It's unclear whether Wilson was shot by FBI agents as they moved in to arrest him, or whether he shot himself.

The FBI’s interest in Wilson apparently originated with his heavy involvement in some of the same neo-Nazi factions that have produced a string of arrests in recent months.

Nick Martin at The Informant reports that Wilson “was an admirer of the 1980s terrorist group The Order and had ties to two active neo-Nazi organizations.”

One of Martin’s sources identified Wilson as the Telegram user “Werwolfe 84,” which enabled Martin and Elon University computer science professor Megan Squire to determine Wilson’s involvement in two public Telegram channels for neo-Nazi groups: one for the National Socialist Movement (NSM) and one for the violence-oriented Vorherrschaft Division (VSD).

According to Martin, Wilson was an administrator of the NSM’s public Telegram chat, active there as recently as Tuesday afternoon, just prior to the FBI raid.

He posted his view that the coronavirus pandemic was a government ploy, an “excuse to destroy our people.”

“Mark my words it’s [sic] coming I hope people are ready,” he wrote.

He had also used anti-Semitic language the day prior in a comment on the Covid-19 outbreak.

“If you don’t think this whole thing was engineered by Jews as a power grab here is more proof of their plans,” Wilson wrote.

“Jews have been playing the long game we are the only ones standing in their way.”

Martin observed that Wilson was apparently an admirer of the Northwest-based neo-Nazi gang The Order, which in 1983-84 had engaged in a running series of bank and armored car robberies and several murders, including a Denver radio talk show host.

Wilson made frequent references to Robert Mathews, the leader of The Order, who perished in a shootout with FBI agents in December 1984, calling him “Uncle Bob.”

A January post on the VSD channel by Wilson featured images of members of The Order with the caption:

“Remember our heroes.”

On Sunday, Martin reported, Wilson posted a photo of Mathews.

“Don’t be the cuck that gives up without a fight,” Wilson wrote.

“Make uncle bob proud.”

Even before the pandemic erupted, the FBI had identified white nationalist extremism as the most lethal terrorist threat facing Americans, with good cause.

Of particular concern is the recent trend among the radicalized fascists to advocate for a civil war—or, in their lingo, the coming “Boogaloo”—by committing acts of terrorism.

The same faction has also discussed weaponizing the Covid-19 itself.

Some of them, apparently, are not content to wait for the infection to arrive before acting.

When Racists Attack: Leesburg, Georgia

Yesterday in Leesburg, Georgia two FedEx employees were confronted by a unpleasant homeowner after dropping off a package.

GAFollowers has been in contact with the two employees, Antonio and Felinzay and they've asked us to use our platform and help set up this GoFundMe campaign.

BACKSTORY:

"All we did was deliver his package, he was in the house at the time. It was a quick stop and as soon as we were leaving he ran out his house cursing and threatening us. While we were looking confused we just apologized for being on his yard but he keep going on then kept saying he would whoop our black asses and then he told his wife to call the cops. That’s when he pulled out his phone playing victim and that's when I recorded. Idk what the police did but I posted this video because we go through racism everyday on that route in Leesburg but he was the first one to actually come up and actually threaten us."

These two FedEx employees were fired simply for doing their job.

Antonio and Felinzay are asking for your help.

These funds will be given to the two employees seen in the video who are now out of a job.

We've spoken to both former employees and they will be grateful for any type of support as they transition to finding a new job.

Donations will be split 50/50 amongst Antonio and Felinzay and will be delivered immediately.

Thank you everyone!

When Racists Attack: Newport, Michigan
by Ray Kisonas

A 42-year-old Newport man remains in jail on felony assault and ethnic intimidation charges after he reportedly struck a young black man in the face with a bicycle chain and used a racial slur during a weekend incident at Sterling State Park.

Lee James Mouat Jr. has been charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, felonious assault and ethnic intimidation following the melee that occurred around 7:45 p.m. at the park’s beach.

The victim is an 18-year-old Monroe man, who suffered facial injuries during the assault.

The teen has been hospitalized with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Major Jeff Kemp of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began when two groups of people – one white, the other black – were swimming at the park’s beach.

As they were emerging from the water, words were exchanged.

Kemp said as insults were exchanged, Mouat went to his car and retrieved a locking device used for bicycles.

He approached the victim, called him nigger and struck him in the face with the lock.

At that point, a melee ensued.

Multiple sheriff’s deputies, Michigan State Police troopers and park rangers converged on the scene.

Kemp said there were at least eight witnesses who offered statements, but others refused to cooperate with the investigation.

He added the victim did cooperate with authorities.

Monroe County Prosecutor Michael G. Roehrig said ethnic intimidation charges were filed after it was determined that the incident was racially motivated.

He also said it appears the incident was isolated and occurred randomly after words were exchanged.

A bond hearing was held before a Monroe County magistrate and First District Judge Michael C. Brown set bond at $100,000, which was not posted.

Mouat is expected to be formally arraigned before Brown on Tuesday morning.

When Racists Attack: Madison, Wisconsin
by Minyvonne Burke

Police in Madison, Wisconsin, launched a hate crime investigation after a biracial African American woman said a group of white men doused her with lighter fluid and set her on fire.

Althea Bernstein, 18, told investigators she was stopped at a traffic light in the city at around 1 a.m. Wednesday when she heard someone yell a racial slur through her rolled-down window, according to a police department incident report.

"She looked and saw four men, all white. She says one used a spray bottle to deploy a liquid on her face and neck, and then threw a flaming lighter at her, causing the liquid to ignite," the report states.

Bernstein was able to pat out the flames and then drove home.

Her mother told her to go to the hospital, where she was told that the liquid was believed to be lighter fluid.

A photo obtained by NBC affiliate WMTV in Madison shows injuries to Bernstein's neck and the side of her face.

Family spokesman Michael Johnson, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County, said Bernstein was driving to a friend's house when the men started yelling nigger and then attacked her while she was at a red light.

Bernstein suffered second-and-third degree burns and will require further medical treatment, he told NBC News in a phone interview Friday.

“She’s experiencing trauma right now but, for what happened to her, she’s doing better," he said, calling her a strong young woman.

The family is focusing on Bernstein's health and recovery.

In a statement released through Johnson, they said that they are “saddened by what happened to Althea and the unprovoked attack on her body."

Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway said she spoke with Bernstein's family and called the alleged attack "horrifying and absolutely unacceptable."

"While we are still learning more about the details, current information suggests this may have been a premeditated crime targeted toward people of color, which makes the incident even more disturbing," she wrote in a statement.

"Everybody in Madison deserves to feel safe, and it is up to every single one of us to make that true. We must show kindness and compassion for each other, and we must care about the safety and well-being of those around us."

Joel DeSpain, a police spokesman, said Friday that detectives are reviewing surveillance cameras to see if they captured the incident.

So far, no arrests have been made.

Johnson said Bernstein does not know the men and despite what she's endured, she has forgiven them.

"She was telling me that she actually forgives the people who have done this to her and hopes that they get their lives together," he said.

When Racists Attack: Orion Township, Michigan
by Biba Adams

The Michigan ‘Karen’ who pointed a gun at a Black woman and her daughters outside of a Chipotle restaurant, and her husband, have been arrested.

Jillian Wuestenberg, 32, and Eric Wuestenberg, 42, were charged Thursday with felonious assault, Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper said in a release.

“It is an unfortunate set of circumstances that tempers run high over, basically, not much of an incident,” Cooper said of the initial alleged spark that caused the confrontation.

The incident occurred Wednesday, July 1st in Orion Township, Michigan where Takelia Hill was picking up dinner with her daughter, Makayla Green.

Hill stated that the woman and her white male driver aggressively backed their minivan up.

Feeling threatened, she hit on their back window.

It was then that the woman emerged from the car pointing a pistol at the family.

“Get the f**k back!” She yelled,

“Don’t you f**king jump behind my car!”

Hill said that the incident has traumatized her family.

In addition to Makayla, Hill’s other daughters were inside the family’s car.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard told reporters that the couple is from Independence Township and both have concealed pistol licenses.

Deputies seized two handguns from the couple after they were detained Wednesday night following the encounter.

Bouchard said that in these times of tension that as Americans to be more patient with one another.

“I would just say this,” Bouchard began,

“we are asking and expect our police — and rightfully so — to deescalate every situation they possibly can, and we should be doing that.”

The Wuestenberg’s were arraigned on Thursday and released on a $50,000 bond.

As a part of their bond agreement, they must surrender all of their firearms.

When Racists Attack: Stonington, Connecticut
by Michael Sheridan

A white couple from Long Island was arrested in Brooklyn for brutally attacking a Black hotel worker in Connecticut, authorities said Monday.

Philip Sarner, 39, and Emily Orbay, 29, are also accused of using racial slurs during two separate attacks on June 26th at the Quality Inn on Route 27 in Mystic.

Sarner and Orbey were arrested in Brooklyn by the NYPD and the United States Marshals Service, Stonington police said, according to NBC 10 News in Connecticut.

The victim, 59-year-old Crystal Caldwell, claims the couple repeatedly called her a “monkey” as they viciously punched and kicked her, she told The Day newspaper.

“That man had so much hate for me in his heart,” Caldwell told the news outlet.

The June attack also has authorities looking into the behavior of the local police department for its handling of the investigation, Connecticut officials said.

“Chief Darren Stewart, with support from the Police Commission, requested an external review of the investigation,” Danielle Chesebrough, Stonington First Selectman, said in a statement on fakebook.

“I have since retained through the law director’s office an independent firm to conduct an external review specifically about this event and the Stonington Police Department Policies and Procedures,” she wrote.

The assault apparently started over an issue with hot water.

Caldwell was working the front desk when she got a call from the couple to complain.

She claims they were rude, so she hung up on them.

That’s when she said Sarner came down to the front desk, and during an angry exchange, called her an “old monkey” and struck her.

A member of the hotel staff called 911, NBC 10 News in Connecticut reported.

A woman told police during that call that a guest was “beating up on my desk clerk.”

Surveillance video captured the second assault on a hotel worker at the Quality Inn in Mystic, authorities said.

Then, another call came in, police said. This time, it was from one of the hotel guests, who claimed they were attacked by a staff member of the Quality Inn.

“I was just assaulted by staff,” the person claimed, according to recordings released by authorities.

Caldwell claims that after police arrived, they told her to remain in the employee lounge while they reviewed surveillance video.

Caldwell told The Day she then left the room briefly to get ice, as her face was starting to swell.

That’s when the second assault took place, she claims.

This incident was captured on video, which shows her being punched and kicked repeatedly. Caldwell also claims the couple called her a “monkey,” and said:

“‘Black Lives Matter? Your life doesn’t matter, you don’t deserve to live on this earth.‘”

Stonington police, however, deny the claim they were present during this assault.

Surveillance video captured the second assault on a hotel worker at the Quality Inn in Mystic, authorities said.

“Completely false,” the department said on fakebook.

“The first assault occurred at 11:33 a.m. One witness took the victim to her office and then called police; and the second assault occurred at 11:37 a.m. all prior to any police arrival at the Quality Inn. This is supported by video surveillance.”

Police also claim that employees had difficulty with the video and they did not actually see the footage of the assault until three days after the attacks.

Cops also note that witnesses did not report hearing any of the racial slurs.

When they arrived at the Quality Inn, police said, Caldwell, Sarner and Orbay all requested to go to the hospital.

Cops then interviewed witnesses, and after getting the details said they the sought to arrest the couple.

Hospital rules relating to coronavirus, however, prevented police from going into the emergency room to arrest Sarner and Orbey, authorities said.

Meanwhile, police said, Sarner and Orbay called cops claiming they were being “threatened and harassed by the victim’s family via fakebook.”

Police then believed the couple would have to return to the hotel for their stuff, which they thought was locked away in their room.

However, authorities said they were unaware that the couple had already snuck their belongings from the room, and after going to the hospital, were able to flee the state.

Warrants were issued for their arrest, and they were taken into custody Monday, NBC 10 News in Connecticut reported.

Both face multiple charges, including assault and intimidation based on bigotry and bias.

When Racist Attack: Torrance, California
by ABC News

A white Southern California man was jailed on $1 million bail after being charged with a hate crime stemming from an incident in which police allege he screamed racial slurs at a group of Black people before driving a car at them, injuring two, including an off-duty security guard who fired shots at the charging vehicle.

Dennis Aaron Wyman, 42, allegedly fled the confrontation last month in a hotel parking lot in Torrance, California, police said.

He was arrested during a July 8th traffic stop in Rodando Beach where he lives and was charged on Monday with multiple felony counts, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

The charges against Wyman were filed following a string of recent incidents across the country in which people have driven into crowds, mostly at protests, injuring multiple people and killing one Black Lives Matter protester during a freeway demonstration.

Wyman was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of hit-and-run driving resulting in serious injury.

He was being held at the Los Angeles County Jail, according to online records, and is scheduled to appear in Torrance Municipal Court on Tuesday.

When Racists Attack: Monroe, Michigan
by Joseph Wilkinson

A white Michigan man attacked a group of Black teenagers on a beach and broke one kid’s jaw, federal authorities said.

Lee Mouat, 42, fractured 18-year-old Devin Freelon’s jaw and knocked out several of his teeth when he hit him with a bike lock on June 6th, the Justice Department said in a press release Tuesday.

Mouat has been charged with a federal hate crime.

Lee Mouat Freelon and two of his friends were chiling on a public beach in Monroe, Michigan, about 40 miles south of Detroit, when Mouat approached them, feds said in an affidavit.

One of Freelon’s friends told the FBI that Mouat yelled at them multiple times,

“This is my beach, nigger!”

Mouat complained about Freelon and his friends' music, one person told the feds.

The witness heard Mouat say, “these niggers are playing gang music,” and “I wish someone would say something to me so I can beat them.”

A third witness heard Mouat yell, “Black lives don’t matter” at the teenagers and follow it with “I’ll show you.”

After Mouat attacked Freelon, police arrived and stopped his Jim Crow-like attack, according to the affidavit.

According to the 2010 census, 88% of Monroe’s population is white and only 6% is Black.

In addition to the federal hate crime charge, Mouat is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, ethnic intimidation and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, local NBC affiliate WDIV reported.

When Racists Attack: Camp Lejeune, North Carolina
by Tracy Conner

An active-duty Marine assigned to Camp Lejeune in North Carolina has been charged in an illegal firearms conspiracy—which prosecutors allege was run by a cabal of neo-Nazi ex-military men who wanted to create a “modern day SS.”

The evidence includes a sickening video of live-fire weapons training that ended with the masked participants giving “Heil Hitler” salutes before a slide with the message:

“Come home white man.”

It also includes chat logs in which the men discussed shooting anti-racism protesters.

Justin Wade Hermanson, 21, was named in a federal indictment along with Liam Collins, 21, and Jordan Duncan, 26, both ex-Marines who served at Camp Lejeune.

The fourth person charged is Paul Kryscuk, 35, reportedly a porn star who specialized in abusing Black women.

Kryscuk, whose screen name was Pauly Harker, linked up with Collins, who was drummed out of the military last year for extremist posts, on Iron March— the now-defunct fascist forum that gave birth to the terrorist organization Atomwaffen Division.

The court papers unsealed in federal court this week lay out a chilling scenario: Plans for a paramilitary organization that would buy up land and eventually wage a guerrilla war on “urban” Americans.

Collins, who had just enlisted in the Marines and didn’t leave the service until this September, described his twisted vision in a 2017 Iron March post.

“[E]everyone [in the group] is going to be required to have served in a nation’s military, whether US, UK, or Poland .... Its a goal for the longterm,” the post said.

“I’ll be in the USMC for 4 years while my comrades work on the groups physical formation ... .It will take years to gather all the experience and intelligence that we need to utilize - but that’s what makes it fun. It takes a man’s willpower and heart to make a commitment like this.”

In a 2017 message to Collins, Kryscuk allegedly fantasized about bringing about “the Balkanization of America” by buying up swaths of land in white, rural, conservative areas of the country.

“First order of business is knocking down The System, mounting it and smashing it’s [sic] face until it has been beaten past the point of death,” he wrote, according to the indictment.

“Eventually we will have to bring the rifles out and go to work.”

Prosecutors say Collins, Kryscuk, and Duncan combined forces to manufacture and modify weapons to make them more lethal and harder to trace by law enforcement—some of which were allegedly sold to Marines, with Hermanson acting as the middleman.

Kryscuk, Collins, and Duncan, who became a military contractor after leaving the Marines, all moved to Boise, Idaho, this year.

Over summer, when Black Lives Matter protests sprang up in the wake of the police killing of George Floyd, Kryscuk and Duncan stalked protesters, the indictment alleges.

Messages from October 1st allegedly show Kryscuk and Duncan talking about their group—referred to as BSN—shooting protesters:

DUNCAN: “How the BSNs finna be pulling up to chipotle after hitting legs”

KRYSCUK: “Death squad”

KRYSCUK: “Assassins creed hoodies and suppressed 22 pistols”

DUNCAN: “People freaking tf out”

KRYSCUK: “About what”

DUNCAN: “The end of democracy”

KRYSCUK: “One can hope”

The Boise Police Department condemned the group that had put down stakes in its city.

“Those seeking to cause violence are not welcome in our city,” Boise Police Chief Ryan Lee said in a statement.

“The Boise Police Department is committed to rooting out anyone, from any background and any viewpoint, who would do harm or sow fear in our community.”

The court docket does not list any defense attorneys for the defendants.
