I hope to check it out.  Looks like semi-X-Men stuff without being Marvel.

Not really feeling it. It's like a handcuffed True Blood. Plus it seems to have some of the current trends of the white man/black woman trope. And it annoyed me that Peter Mensah's character has blue eyes. I've seen that often where they give black characters physical characteristics that are not typical for a majority of blacks and it seems to me that that's done to reinforce the Otherness of black characters.

There's tons of just average looking white characters doing all kinds of all extraordinary things in movies and television shows in comparison.

Yea, they eyes is kinda freaky.  If they had other vamps with the same kind of eyes it would have been less gimmicky, putting it mildly.

Good point. Next week is the vampire episode so maybe we'll see that. I didn't get that from the promo though.

Also I didn't like how Mensah got checked by his white female partner, buddy, or whoever. I don't know who she is on the show but she was the blonde that was handy with a gun.

Yea, I don't like her character in general.  I think she's some sort of "Van Helsing" supernatural hunter type.

Okay. Thanks. I guess she's one of the current girl power kind of characters out there. And that's alright if they don't overdo it or have these (generally white) women demonstrate their strength on black male characters.
