Never read this or the original. Is it worth a digital purchase?

I enjoyed the first graphic novel quite a bit. I have some issues with some of Ridley's stances where black people are concerned, but he's a solid writer. I felt the first graphic novel, which I would recommend reading before checking out this new round of books, was a good and interesting mix of superheroics and race set in the 60s. And so far, this new round of books is doing a good job following up from that series, which while rooted in the 70s and the end of the Civil Rights movement, is still topical. It would be great to see Starz or HBO adapt The American Way.
