Where would we be without education and the arts? Chance the Rapper, who credits so much of his success to Chicago and his upbringing there, is always looking for ways to go above and beyond for the city he loves.

During a press conference he held today (March 6), he let us know he's now aiming at the Chicago Public School system, and is calling on people of influence to donate up to $1 million to help support the children of the city. With such an incredible feat in front of him, he'll need all the support you can get, and then some. It's a good thing that right out the gate he's got a certain influential and powerful team player...

Michelle Obama, who was extremely vocal as an advocate for education during her time as First Lady of the United States, took to Twitter earlier in support of Chance's announcement. When Michelle's got your back, it's pretty safe to say you're doing something positive and special. Chance is no stranger to the Obama family, but with every move he makes, he seems to be gaining their hearts more and more.

This support comes after a meeting with Illinois governor Bruce Rauner, who, according to Chance, was less appreciative of his endeavors. While he wanted to discuss all the “important issues affecting” the city of Chicago and state of Illinois as a whole, he lamented that the meeting “went a little different than it should have," and received "vague" answers to his pleas.

In return, he called out the governor during his press conference, exclaiming "Gov Rauner, do your job!" Adding to the notion that the children of the city deserve all the chances in the world (no pun intended), he stated “our kids should not be held hostage because of political positions.” Right on, Chance!

Chance has a lot of work ahead of him, but he's on the right path. With the support from the right people in the right places (*ahem* Queen Michelle Obama *ahem*), we're confident he will succeed.
