Bendis seems to have a penchant for destroying strong black characters apart from Luke Cage who he more or less wrote as a chump in New Avengers.

Most people know Bendis is one of my all time least  favorite writers. But without Bendis, Luke would probably still be a character that only shows up every few years in a Heroes for Hire book that only lasts 11 issues. Doesn't he get a lifetime free pass with Cage? If not, all the better. I'm happy to pile on with everyone else!  :)

I like most of Bendis' work. I would love to give him a lifetime pass because of Cage.

But I can't. It's the repeated, dominant pattern if behavior that's more reflective of one's genuine mindset, as opposed to a single shining exception to the general rule and pattern of one's actions

It's possible Luke Cage might make few appearances in BMB's run (maybe more so in comparison to how other writers would do it
if they were to write the fourth BP comic series). Bendis probably might have Cage appear a little more in fourth BP series than
Hudlin would.
