Ahahahaha! I wondered why I've never seen Superman fight against the Klan! But it's just a forgotten chapter in history! They should do that more often! :D Fight them Superman! Stand up for America!
Do you prefer a hero who will confirm your deepest fears? Or a hero who will inspire faith in humanity and goodness?

This was mentioned inthe book Freakonomics as well, as an example of the power of information, and was also brought up on the terrific quiz show QI on the BBC. It's a terrific story, that should be better known.

Yes, but it's good to know a popular hero like him did fight internal American threats of hate.

Very cool.  In Superman's earliest days he fought against slum lord and wife beaters.  It makes sense that, in his radio show, he'd battle the clan.  So, so much better, though, that this radio broadcast so severely hurt the real clan!
