Would you consider putting this in the Ultimates Universe, or is it strictly 616?  I understand the connection to Bill Foster predicates keeping it 616-relevant, but I'd love to see a strong, diversified presence over in the Ultimate U.. considering the books have been on the shelves for the past what, 6 years?

well this existence and congregation of this team is too entwined with 616 continuity to put it into the Ultimate Universe.  Many of the characters in this team as well as enemies and supporting characters have made very brief introductions in the 616 universe.  I thin kif making a team in the Ultimate universe it would be better to make a team with more established characters.  What I like about this team is that it is full of obscure characters that do not have a long list of continuity to stifle their development.  Nevertheless they NEED development in 616 before one can justify their existence elsewhere.   I'm taking several liberties here because they don't necessarily have a huge fanbase but there is potential.

For some background, I created this team after a series of discussions about creating a Black superhero team.  the prevailing idea is that creating a team with all or primarily black superheroes would be forced and contrived.  Well I tried to come up with the most unforced and non-contrived method.  If you notice the book doesn't start off with a team.  Initially its Falcon who has custody of the minor Debrii after she ran with the Secret Avengers.  She is a minor and he became surrogate father/brother of sorts during their time underground.  Then Silhouette another Secret Avenger comes along, followed by Bandit and Brother Voodoo.  Even still they aren't really a team.  The "team" itself revolves around the "Foundation" that the Falcon is starting.  Eventually they will become a team but not off the bat.  The point is I think the story has a nice organic cohesiveness to it.                                             .  The more I think about it I would love to write this.  I'm tempted to write a script for an entire issue for sh!ts and giggles.
