Hard Choices: Long or short
« on: January 04, 2008, 12:10:22 am »
Ok this has been a long argument that has gone on for at least 100 years. In the Black community it's huge deal ask all the Korean people selling weave hair. My own experinces throught out life and the past 24 hours.

So I want to know long hair or short hair. I'm refering to the hair on top of one's head. Cookie hair would be a different topic so one more time long hair or short hair or better yet does it even matter...?

Depends on the head.  And the face.

For myself, I like short.  Easy to maintain.

I like my women with long hair. The head shape has to be right to pull of a short hair cut. The women who are able to style a short short cut have the utmost confidence and that is attractive as well. I would tell you other reasons why I like long hair in women....but it would make me blush :-*

No, I gave my answer.  It depends on the face and head.  If a lady can pull off short hair, great!

Ha!
It's usually the long hair getting "pulled off" or on.

Cheirel,
A lot depends on the texture too.
Bruthas I've encountered generally prefer long straight hair; authenticity doesn't seem to matter.
Would some of you bruthas please verify this?

A nice weave is great. The hood weave is horrible. Come on Beyounce would come down from a 10 to a 8.5 without her thousand dollar weave job. But to answer your question Magic the priority one is long whether it's straight, twisted, locks or weave is secondary.

I consider long to be at the neck line to btw.

Does "long" = weave exclusively?

Or are we talking natural vs. processed, because I know plenty of people with natural "long" hair, and I think it looks great.

I'm not a fan of the weaves, but I do appreciate a well-coifed one as much as the next man!

I always wonder about men and the whole hair thing.Men can talk about longer then I can. I have a very weird texture of hair so that doesn't help. AND I DON'T LET PEOPLE TOUCH MY HAIR! I think that is just part of me being "country" I always got back and forth (naturally mine). I always say if I need some I can always buy it. I love Reg's statement about point of impact.
Ms Wand, I know what you mean, when they thinking they've got a new move and basically you screaming to get off my hair. I remember in my virginous single days telling this guy if pulled my hair (not that kind of pull/ one more time I was going to punch him in the face.

Anyway I had a whim and cut mine short~shoulders. I don't think my rating dropped but I'll ask around ;)

As long as a woman can take care of their hair, length does not matter to me, IMO. Not only it is maintain well on the outside, her head on the inside must be maintain as well.  Enough of my PSA, back to hard choice.......... :P

Long and curly.

Although I think it takes a beautiful face to pull off really short hair.
