So, I watched the Boondocks clip, and I've just gotta say...
I'm annoyed and disappointed at BET if they did indeed lean on The Cartoon Network and had this episode pulled.  I mean, c'mon now... this is a show that has poked fun at Katrina survivors.  What, is BET above being satirized?

Neither party's released a statement at this point, so I'm waiting to find out a bit more. Hell, even word of the programme being delayed/cancelled is unofficial, everyone seems to doing the 'confirm and deny nothing' thing. I mean, even if all the rumours turn out to be true, there will still be questions, such as where exactly did the threat of legal action come from (Debra Lee, Reggie, someone above them at Viacom?), and exactly what were the grounds and threats of this supposed legal action?

If the eps are being pulled because in the course of their usual satire, they hurt feelings or were threatened with a lawsuit (as the rumors suggest) then that's not right.  However, if said episode is a malicious attack on individuals, then I personally have a problem with that.  Hell, I think the comic strip was much better, but that's just me....these days I'd rather read my copy of Public Enemy No. 2 than watch the show anyway.

I still need an answer for my question: why does anybody think that BET was so incensed that they would file an injunction? What could McGruder possibly have to say that everybody in the black community hasn't? Does anybody really think that Aaron McGruder has Hudlin or Debra Lee THAT shook?

Man yall know I love yall right, but some of yall plus some of the people on the net are sounding real simple right about now. Give me a break. Look at it like this Sony as a company need BET a lot more then BET needs Sony. Sony can't very well be critical of BET as being the "destroyer" of black people when they are all up in bed with BET. R Kelly is under the Sony imprint!!!! Half of Kel's career is due to BET. If i personally owned BET I would come at Sony/Cartoon network/McGruder as well. This would have little of nothing to do with Ms. Lee or Reg. This isn't about free speech or fair is fair or none of that little man argument b/s. Sony pays for a lot of those booty shaken videos. BET ain't directing them or paying for them. The reel gets sent to them and they judge what the street will think is hot. I don't know the sh$% seems pretty straight forward and clear to me.
